You never answered my question.

Do they perform a visual e-check? It's very hard to see the cat on these cars. If they put the car up on a lift for inspection then yeah do something about it, but if not you should be ok.

If not, have the code tuned out, and you will be set.

Re-read the thread, youll find me saying twice that they only perform a visual inspection.

Also, my second O2 has been tuned out for years, we all had a discussion on that.

the info you wouldnt find re-reading the thread is this, they do it with a mirro not a lift, so you may be right, idk how educated the people that work at these places are.

Ok. No need to get testy. I was trying to help you out with a solution. I must have over looked it. I've had a spliting headache all day. Goodluck.

Theres ways of avoiding E Check
I know ppl that keep a PO Box in counties that don't have e check, or you can keep your license address to a family/friends address in a county w/no e check also. Just some tricks I know of to avoid some dirt bag driving your car that has no right to even touch it. It is illegal to give false info to dmv but **** them & their e check lol.

I just went to our friendly echeck place today and I havent run my car all winter. When they went to check it on the computer it had no history so they had to run a sniff test. Yeah I failed the NO part pretty bad. Looks like my tune cant help me now because the only way I can get a pass now is to pass another sniff test ( must be a new deal because I saw about 4 cars while I was there have to run the old way.) THey do run a visual inspection they look with mirrors for all of the important stuff. So now I am off for the next week trying to find a way to pass the sniff test lol. I believe it is just my o2 sensors and when I bought my car it had a wild tune on it. I am going to the tuners in the area to at least see what is written out because I may have to get a stock tune to pass the sniffer ( hopefully won't get too ugly)! WHat do you guys think?

THanks
Tom

Killin,

I am not Catless but they did set mirrors underneath to make sure that I had one. I just had one put on for 40 bucks in the fall. If you happen to reset codes or have no history to be read they will either tell you to come back in a couple days to run the check or run you on the dyno. I took my test in STOW ohio. Good Luck let me know if you need anything.

Thanks,

I'll go to the one in Valley View. I also found this as a really good refference:
How to pass emissions on a catless turbo honda - Honda-Tech

Since I have a bunch of meth, I figure I could do this in preperation for the roller test. There are still conditions that would have to be in my favor.

If the guy with the mirror doesnt see it, doesnt care, or doesnt know his job, and lets me through. then the prep for the roller test might come in handy, if they give me crap for the history or no readings on the O2 etc.

Basically this is a craps shoot, the planets must allign for me LOL

Another thing is I have a p0449 that I've replaced everything but the pcm and the wire. This error code is for faulty canister vent solenoid. I replaced that, and the purge valve, and the fuses, no luck.

If any one can help with that go here to look at details:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/prob...7/#post5583855

One of my tuners is going to cut that code out for me. Eff evap anyway at this point.

Cheers,
Bill
