Finally got my cobalt!!
I finally got my cobalt, i got an 05 cobalt w/ 15,700 miles and its awesome. i jus have 1 question it says cobalt ss on the car it feels and sounds like an ss but on carfax it says its and ls. now i know it cant be an ls cause it has poer locks power windows and has the keychain to unlock and lock the car and open the trunk. and when i floor it it sounds nowhere near an ls so i was wonderin if there was anyway to check out if it is an ss. my coworker has an ls (auto though) and i was gonna jus have a race and see if i do alot better to get an idea then have somewhat of a race wit my classmate who has an ss to see if i keep up. if there is any way to check thats simple and easy please let me know and thanx but i love my car ss or lt or ls it rides so smooth and i love the price i got it for cuz i still have the warranty
^^^ Yes, there was no 2.4 available for the '05 MY, so it's either 1) 2.0L S/C or 2) 2.2L. You probably got an LS, if you put the VIN into carfax and it listed it as an LS, then you have an LS. The VIN number won't lie.
The easiest way to tell though, seriously, is by the interior. If it's leather and the seats say "SS" then it's a SS/SC. If the seats don't say "SS" then it's not. Easy as that. But another easy, sure-fire way is by looking at your wheels. If there are 5 lugs, it's an SS, if there are only 4, then it's a 2.2.

.... Post up some pics, there are some pretty good cues on these cars which can really help determine what year and trim model you have...
