Finally got my ss

ok well when i was 16 i went to get a car and i wanted a cobalt ss, but i was unable to because well i was 16. Anyway i ended up with a g5 and i liked it alot. But since i saved up some money i went out and got my cobalt ss. I picked this thing up brand new for 17990 and paid 9 for it after trade and gm cash. It is an 09 but i got it brand new. I love this thing, its really quick and fun to drive.

My G5

My new SS

Future planed mods i have questions about

Clutch and Flywheel maybe this is my first 5 speed so i am learning and i drove all of today and im getting the hang of it but i grinded gears like 3 times and stalled maybe 3 times. Would i need to replace this stuff in the future. I assume if something goes wront with that its not covered under warranty because its caused by the driver but idk. ANy info on this?

Charge piping i want some red charge pipe to match the car, but i read the thread about intakes on the ss/tc and would i need a tune for charge pipes

GM stage 1

Badge overlays black or red?

I have an ACT 6 puck and a flywheel. Wait till you can drive it really good before you switch it out because it's harder to drive at first with an aggressive clutch.

Your clutch should be fine. You wont need to replace it for at least 30k miles unless your driving very hard or adding a bunch of mods. debadge the cobalt ss and turbocharged off the back.

Black badges, black wheels, tinted windows....then see what the g5 trunk looks like on there

still selling the rk sport hood?

dont do gms1. just upgrade the sensors and get a trifecta tune. you'll be happier and make more power. dont tune it past 24psi though until you have supporting mods

You will probably need a new clutch eventually, but not right away. If it is your first manual then I would guess about 2 maybe 3 years before you need a new one.

Usually with charge piping you don't need a tune, but if you get an intake you will need a tune.

Trust me those SS seats are far better than the crap non g85/SS/Sport seats...
And the Non G85 leather seats arent even true leather anyway

The base SS/SC seats suck. Even the seats in my SRT are amazing in comparison.

Yeah the Caliber SRT does have better seats than any Cobalt SS... But that still doesn't make up for the fact that it sounds like the plastic is cracking on every pot hole and speed bump.

My hot side CP took me about an hour to change. It isn't hard to change, but getting to the bottom clamp takes a bit since you have to remove the lower covers. I have not changed the cold side CP as I don't see any benefit to doing so with a mostly stock setup, but it should not be any harder to do than the hot side besides having to also swap the sensor.

I dont even think its recommended to get the new sensors with a trifecta tune. HPT yes but trifecta no, vince is able to trick the stock sensors.

gm stage 1 is fine if you want a small upgrade and dont have big hp in mind along with warranty.

Charge pipes do not need a tune.
