Freakin kids

I happened to step out on my porch last night and see a couple kids walking down my street (1:00 am). Well, paranoid as I am, I duck down and see what they're doing and one of them goes up to my Cobalt and starts peeking in the window and the other is standing kind of behind him.

Hell naw, so I run out and yell at them and they run off. I sat on my porch for a while with a solid 2' pipe in case they came back and I eventually moved my car off the street onto the driveway and turned some floodlights on... but now I'm going to be paranoid at night.

freakin kids.

I say "kids" like I'm not one.

Lol, idk i guess it's cool you scared them away. If you had the windows rolled up and everything things should've been cool. I would've waited until they actually did something abusive or something. I guess you played it safe, but come to think about it, they were just admiring your car

Bro, you might've given them a reason to come back some other time & do something. I hope you didn't really SCARE them off.

Just find the parents and throw them a beating for not watching their kids.
Or you could have yelled Scooby Doo style "I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids".

Nah, I didn't scare the hell out of them... I just said "Hey, get away from the car!"

I was worried they were going to damage it just for the fun of it, but this is a pretty good neighborhood... so I don't know. If it had been my previous car out there (94 4runner) I would have just gone to bed and slept soundly... but this is my Cobalt!

If they want to admire it all they hafta do is give me a call I'd be glad to take them around the block in it

I have a "pole dancer" on my antenna (don't ask it was a gift) I always come out of work to find people playing with it but I don't mind since I know them all.....also, thank god for big dogs...she lets me know when anything is near my house late at night

Haha.

Yeah, a dog would help... cats are pretty worthless when it comes to gaurding property.

paranoia

are you still paranoid if everyone really is after you?

i live in east lansing MI. its a large college town with a ton of young people in it.

ive owned my car a little over a year now and have come to realize that our car is an ******* magnet.

i have had my car keyed more than once. had a Mcdonalds shake thrown at it. and picked up a dent in the passenger side door.

every noise i hear at nite i pop out of bed and check on my baby. this is my first new car so i want to pretect her like i would protect my first born.

ive slowly come to realize that everybody hates us.
the old school hot rods hate us cause the think all small displacement cars are the dreaded "ricers."

the foreign car modifiers hate us cause we're domestic.

the truck guys hate us cause we're not trucks.

i am one of the few who is just a fan of going fast and making excessive amounts of horse power. i dont care if its a truck a honda or a small block chevy. to me its all gravy.

Exactly! The first thing I do when I move into a new neighborhood is make friends with the teenagers. They just don't give a sh*t who's stuff they ruin (they're not used to paying for things on their own because mommy and daddy do everything for them) When you become friends with them, they tend to leave your ***** alone

I'm normally pretty friendly with the teenagers around here, but I didn't recognize these two.

thankfully at my college (since nobody new what the hell my car was) i got a lot of respect and never had a problem with it getting damaged. i always worried about it though especially since we have to park in parking lots that are far away from where we live, so if anything happened at night i could do nothing about it. made me paranoid, but it was fine all year. i hope that trend continues.

BFE?

I live in a city with a population of about 25k, 30 miles south of Dallas... it's a pretty calm city and pretty calm neighboorhood. But, I don't know... like I said before, guess I'm just paranoid.

i have a gun and my car is parked right next to my room... everyone knows i have a gun and have no problems with taking a shot at someone... so, the car, the yard and my house stays ******* free.

I caught two kids this spring trying to syphon gas out of my mothers' truck. I went out a door on the other end of the house, snuck around in the dark and caught them. One tried to run, the other turned white and froze looking down the barrel of a .30-.06 deer rifle. The two of them and I had a lengthy discussion on the value of not stealing from other people and the value of not getting your head blown off over something as trivial as some 87 octane pirated from a Silverado. They haven't been back.
Was the gun loaded? No, but just the sight of it was deterrent enough.
I suppose one of the best things about living here was the fact that I knew who they were and they knew who i was and knew that i knew both their parents and that was incentive enough to keep hush on the whole thing.

Anyways... that's why my car keeps nice.
