Go to car-parts.com and see if you can find a totaled SS/SC, call up the junkyard and see about it.

Talking HELP!!...UNknown Part Name

YEah, I know this may seem totally stupid to some of you but I really need to know so im gonna ask any way. Does anyone know the name of the Black Plastic piece underneath the rear bumper of the cobalt? I need a new one , Hillbilly Towtruck driver broke mine with a winch and i cant seem to figure out what its called of where to get a new one. so any help is appreciated ....even if you only know the name let me know.

thanks

I have a question so Im just gonna post it here. I need to get one of those UV/Sun Protector for my 07 CobaltSS. The one you put up in the window when you leave your car in the sun. Anyways, which one(s) are good? There are so many sizes, I just want one that fits perfectly.
Any suggestions. Thanks!

Ghost in the trunk......

.....may be the 3rd brake lite falling into the trunk lid!

Hi to all, I'm a noob to these here tuner cars....08 victory red sport 5spd...just a month old & I gotta say that I'm pleasantly surprised that this little car actually has some very sweet road manners....kudos to GM.

Anyway, back to the ghost in the trunk. Push on the center light at the corners and if it moves that is your ghost, they forgot to put the nuts on the mounting studs.

Pull out the press pins carefully and remove that cardboard carpet liner thing. Look to see if the mounting studs(threaded) for the center brake light have their nuts on them....mine didn't & my light finally fell into the trunk lid.

Be careful as you can break the mounting wings and plastic lock-tabs upon reinstall. The light assembly does not fit the contour of the lid! So you can't get the mounting tabs to the bottom of the studs and turn down the nuts that you will supply that chevy forgot, on mine anyway. What I did was use some rubber wiring gromets as spacers under the light's mounting tabs to take up the slack. The rest is just two nuts and flat washers so you don't break the plastic tabs/lighthousing. It isn't a tough fix and at least now my trunk ghost has been quiet & happy.

Tom

Oh, anyone with an 08 hear anything from Helminc about our FSM's & when they're gonna be available??? TIA

Chevrolet "Build and price"

Anyone know why Chevrolet doesn't even mention the SS model at all? The only engine on the site is the 2.4, standard.

You arent looking in the correct part of the site, go to the build your own and you can select from the 2.2,2.4,and 2.0turbo.

Nope!

I just tried again. The only Cobalt I can get to on the build and price, is an LS, an LT, and an SP. The only engine on the options is the 2.4, and that one is standard.
I can build and price a 2007 SS SC, and find that there are none available, or try to build a 2008, and find not even a mention of the SS. None at all. Try it.
DM
My mistake.....that is kinda. I am only interested in the sedan. Now I see that the Coupe build shows the SS, but I want to build the Sedan, because that is the only one I'd buy.

Can someone go into fuller detail about this Q/A:

Q: Do I have a ghost in my trunk?
A: Possibly, but it is more likely that the sound you are hearing is the trunk latch doing a self-test.
