Is it just me, or does anyone else think it's stupid to only be able to get G85 if you get black inserts? WTF does the color of your interior have to do with anything else?

I think it's VERY stupid. I also think the LSD should be standard and the Recaros should be an option. I hate the Recaro seats, they're extremely uncomfortable for me but I really want/need the LSD in my car for autocross so I'm just ordering it after the fact.
IMO they should have made the LSD standard as well. It was a stupid move not to considering the SRT4 came with it standard after their initial year as well.
GM is very new at this sport compact thing. Now if only they'd get their **** together with a new Camaro...

As far as the LSD, yeah, that was a big oversight on the part of GM not making it standard. I know on other cars it's not standard (Mini Cooper S comes to mind) but it's a factory option and only costs $500. The SS is competitive on an autocross course without it, I've been really competitive in D-stock without it but I know it cost me a 2nd place in one event and a shot at winning another because you simply can't accelerate out of a hard turn. Now with the stage kits coming out it's going to be an absolute necessity...why give a car that much power and not give it the ability to put it to the ground??? Same thing with the wheels, 18s should have been an option but 17" would have been a much better standard size if they were truly after performance.

I couldn't agree more! Now finding 17's is a bitch! However, the Solstice, and several other new cars have this horrible 5x110 bolt pattern, which should drive the demand for wheels up, and will hopefully be answered by wheel companies. I know ths solstice is RWD, but the wheels still might fit... just offset a bit... Never know til you try!
