Gauge Problem
Okay, so I have the Cobalt Series aftermarket gauges, one is oil pressure and the other is voltage. I have hooked both of them up, and my volts is working correctly, but when I started my car i didn't have the sensor for the oil pressure gauge plugged into the sending unit because i was checking for leaks. The pressure gauge shot up to 100 psi and now rests at this pressure, even though i have it hooked up and such to the unit. Any suggestions on what to do? Does anyone have this style gauge?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
full sweep or short? either way unplug the sensor turn the car on and let the gauge go back to zero. then shut the car back off and plug the sensor back in. start the car and it should be readin properly again. i have the full sweep cobalt oil pressure gauge.
do you think the guage is shorting out, i had it unplugged for like whole day from the actual back of the guage and the thing stayed at 100 without anything connected to it.
na i doubt its shortin out. unpluggin it from the back will keep it from bein able to go back to zero. just unplug the sensor and turn the car on and it should go back to zero. then you can turn the car off and plug the sensor back up and start it again and it should be workin properly.
Okay so i tried everything that has been recommended, by you guys but its not working. I still am reading 100 PSI while the car is both on and off. I disconnected the sensor and then started the car let it run for five minutes and the thing was still reading 100 psi, turned it off and reconnected the sensor still reads 100 PSI. Don't know what to do?
I have some pictures below to show you guys where i have things running:
The first one is where i have my ground wire, the second is where the sensor for the sending unit is and the third one is with the car off, and the last one is with it on.
