Me too.

I thought they would've done it back when they first wanted to get bailout money.

you havent been watching the news much huh? The CEO for ford, GM, and chrysler are all getting a $1 salary this year. BTW, a few million is still nothing when youre asking for a 10 billion dollar loan

you got waay to defensive over a legitimate comment. The possibility of not getting a stage kit for the LNF pales in comparison to no more performance cars by GM. To think otherwise is just selfish, since you are only thinking about your own needs. This means that GM will not be creating anything like the CTS-V, ZR1, Z06, Cruze SS, Camaro Z28, Sky Redline (which was dying anyway i suppose). The ones that have already been produced will e the last of their kind for a looong time. This economy will not change by next year... I don't see another performance vehicle coming from GM until 2015.

Your not getting my point... I am fully aware of the effects as it hits me personally, my family has been selling GM cars for years, but for someone to make a comment and this guy had to come back with a pretty much "who cares" reply, what makes not making a car or a part different. It doesn't the principle is the poster was commenting on how it would be affecting him. His reply was totally uncalled for, if he had been more detailed maybe it would not have come off as such.

he wasnt posting on how it would affect him though. He was commenting on how this will change GMs image to the world, and it will simply not be the same kind of company. You, however, pointed out that you dont get your car parts that you want...when in reality, you can just tune the car anyway. Sure it may void the warranty, but losing your warranty vs GM losing its image and market, i agree with Acey. Who cares what happens to you in thegrand scheme of things? You do, thats it. Its inconsiderate, but its still the truth. It may have insulted you a little, but its still correct..

Im gonna add, a good analogy is if a group of people are commenting on the current economic conditions, how they are about to be evicted, and how they cant afford school or find a job, and then you come in and say "yea, this sucks...i cant afford an XBOX now".

My comment to Acey Here

And if you follow the conversation correctly you'll see the rest.

Obviously I understand the grand scheme of things, and if you read my last post you'll see how its effecting me.

And if you want to look at it from a different perspective, I can say that Acey is being selfish because he is from Canada and not considering how this will effect the US economy (no offense to Canadians), he just cares that GM's performance vehicles are fucked...

Even after the bailout GM is going back for more $$, so no this isn't over in the GRAND SCHEME of things.

At the moment, I don't think it has been stated, but I would not be surprised if it was to be true.

Turbos will be a huge factor for any future GM vehicles, since they will be having to greatly improve their fuel efficiency to meet CAFE standards.

So turbos in GM cars are not going away. Special performance parts will probably go away, but I'm sure the aftermarket guys can cover any demand in this area.

canada is kind of dependant on the US economy, just like the rest of the world...so no, you cant assume he's being selfish and just seeing his loss of performance cars. The worlds economy kind of floats around us. Our housing market crashed, which made our economy crash, which made the world's economy crash...watch some global news

OK Ron Burgundy - Now your reaching really far away from my point. So to correct my statement I will say so he is selfish because all he cares about is no more performance GM vehicles and not wow what will this do the the global economy....

I understand what your trying to do, and you can talk till your BLUE in the face - but Acey was wrong, no need for a jackass comment as that.... which was my point.

Hey Guys,

Just to clear up some info with the HPVO tragic news:

The Chevy Cobalt SS, Chevy HHR SS, and the Caddy CTS V will continue to be produced through their normal life cycle.

Pontiac GXP, Corvette Z06 and ZR1, and Camaro SS will be produced and available through their normal product life cycle. These vehicles are actually produced outside of HPVO so they are safe for now.

As far as I know, the Camaro SS has not been delayed since this announcement. The Z28 Camaro was taken off the drawing board a long time ago.

This info comes from a GM update email to its employees. I work in Product Development there.

I haven't heard the latest on the stage kit. I thought it was out for the HHR already so I would assume the Cobalt one is ready to roll. If I hear anything I can share, I'll update you guys.

I was thinking about getting on for my SS so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it comes out. Hopefully it was done before the HPVO announcement. If it was already done, it should come to market.

The stage kit as far as I've been informed is made through GMPP, so it should not be. All this info can be found in the 4, yes 4 threads on this matter.
