Perhaps I mis-worded things because the dealer is what I'm going after first. But its weird you say they don't control the dealerships but every dealer tells me they do what GM tells them to do, at least the ones I have had contact with as far as service is concerned. Am I the only one to hear that? Also from the fact the dealer jb welded my rear trans mount/bracket when they broke it putting the transmission back in and then voiding or putting a block on my warranties, which is what GM told them to do, I would think GM would be in cahoots with them so that I would have to pay out of pocket from now on for any repairs? Just how it seems to me obviously because the almighty dollar is far more superior than customer satisfaction these days. Maybe I'm wrong and I hope so but it just kind of makes sense that way.

Dealerships are franchised. GM doesn't run it.

The dealership would be responsible for their half assed repair not you or GM.

I used to do warranty for a auto supplier dealing with Chrysler products and when the dealer did something stupid like that and it failed or warrantied something that was obviously not a warranty issue the claim would be rejected. At that point the dealership pays.

fiesta! hahaha badass. with a MASSIVE wing on it. forget it man just sell everything including the family and get the shelby, then send it away to become a supersnake. then wrap it around a telephone pole racing and end up living in the woods begging for money to start the cycle all over again.

I bought this little car on my daughters advisement... 34000 miles later, I'm happy. Can't find any fault 'cept the rear brakes scored up badly. fixed that issue with new rotors and hawk hps pads. I liked and trusted them enough to buy a set of their front pads as well... then did the tune. hptuners... God all mighty!!!!

what have I done? well, you probably already know... by the way, I'm new here, so this is my "hello".

I'm new and I hate to resurrect an old thread (no dammit I'm glad I did) but reading some of these comments on the base model 'balt really pissed me off. My '09 engine base engine is so much better than any other compact made today in terms of torque, horsepower, and durability. It's not an SS engine and it's not supposed to be a sport compact. It's fine for what it is.

I can't comment on the base engines before '09 but I dig it over any other compact I test drove. You SS is a sports compact- the lower end models are not. Of course 155hp seems weak to you- you have at least 260, etc. I'm comparing to other compacts with base engines.

I went from a 2004 civic to a 2010 TC, and interior wise the Honda from 2004 was still allot nicer

But does the cobalts interior really look that bad? even side by side? not really..

I want to paint the silver trim in my car black, and honestly I think it will look awesome. :\

I had this discussion with my dad, basically it comes down to the designer... and Honda and other compainies try harder at interior design.

I have a hard time believing that molding the plastic so it looks modern and nice, vs making it look simple and economy - that there could be such a huge price difference :\

Exactly... it's just simple/utilitarian. It' not beautiful but it serves it's purpose and doesn't look THAT bad. The Cruze looks like a yuppie rich boy cockpit lol. Blue lights woo hoo!

I love the excuse, but its a econo car, its not suppose to be awesome. Yet every other car in its class from other manufactures had way better interior and options. Jesus its like if you say 1 bad thing about a car it means you hate it. Being honest doesnt mean you hate your SS...

I'm not saying the Cruze is perfect, never drove one havn't been inside one. Think they're kinda ugly and until they put a turbocharged engine in that thing it's not worth discussing IMO.

That being said, I had a few quams with my SS/SC's interior that always irk'd me...the damn seats (I didn't have recaro...those were a bit better) were B R U T A L....I'd slide all over the damn place. The trim was falling off (silver pieces across the dash), my sunroof button fell off a billion times...etc. The dealership near me could never fix my cruise control for more than a couple months...and somehow my radiator broke it's self (sustained an impact...aka some snow pushed it around). I had an overall poor experience with GM (the dealer and GM's customer service directly, I tried going around my dealer and the people on the phone did NOTHING but back the dealer the whole time). I don't want to make it sound like I hated the car, I didn't...but these were all problems that made me scratch my head.

Creaks and rattles drive me bonkers and I chased them around the entire time I owned the car....the WRX has it's problems with creeks but the interior doesn't look like it's going to fall apart, the Subaru dealer took the doors apart for me under warranty and applied foam adhesive to the rattly bits, since then the only rattle I've heard is my rear deck which I've already looked at and have a plan to fix. I'm not a guy who needs a fantastic luxurious interior, but I do think the cobalt has some fit/finish issues, stuff falling off really pissed me off, that's just my honest opinion.

BTW... Not being an ass but the cruze is turbocharged. I've been in one the interior is nice... does not sqeek like my balt (though my balt didnt really rattle when new either...) but is way slower than even my LT... with my subs in it and all...

The cruze is crap... if your looking for performance... Hell the LT cobalt is crap if your looking for performance but all I was looking for was an 8 second 0-60 which is about what I get... so I can't complain... Still want to turbo mine when I get the chance... when the car's title is acually mine though...
