GM Parts Direct/Experiences

I was wondering if anyone has dealt with them before and how good they are. I'm thinking about ordering something from them but there isn't even a phone number to call. Thanks in advance!!! Oh, and btw how fast was the shipping?

I almost ordered something from them, but the whole lack of a phone number thing really turned me off. If you look through their FAQ they even say that they absolutely do not take phone calls. I have heard good things about them, however.

The other place to try is http://www.partszoneonline.com. They do have a phone number and I've spoken with Bill several times. He seems to be quite knowledgable and very friendly. On the order I placed, partszoneonline.com was a little more for the parts, but much less for the shipping, so overall partszoneonline.com was slightly less.

HTH,
Brett

CED is a sponsor of this site and provides GM parts at very good prices and shipping costs are decent too. You can call them direct and they are customer friendly!

I ordered floor mats and the SS grille from GM parts direct. Had no problems and everything was shipped in a timely manner. Just make sure you look in the cart and see the shipping before finalizing the order, because they charge a lot for shipping sometimes. They even say on the site in the FAQ that they add more to shipping because they are offering the parts at such low prices.

I have bought from them several times. Always fast shipping, but sometimes is expensive. Its difficult to order from them without an actual GM part number, so if you don't know it you sometimes have to ask the parts guy at your dealer. If there is any delay in shipping, they are very good about emailing to let you know.

fredbeansparts.com has better shipping prices, in my opinion, but that's based on my one purchase from them.

I have to recommend CED over GMPartDirect. CED might have a higher price, GMPD kills you on shipping, and CED ends up cheaper overall. Plus they answer the phone.

Yeah, but here's the scenario. I ordered the gmpp sport exhaust and manifold monday from CED. I didn't hear anything from them the whole week. So I called them yesterday and they said they didn't have either of them in stock and they should be getting the exhaust today and shipping it out. They said the The manifold is backordered from the factory and don't know how long it will be before they get it in. And they did go ahead and ship the exhaust. Now I just need to get the manifold. Gmpartsdirect is the next cheapest place for this.

I put the Gmpp exhaust and manifold in the shopping cart and it didn't give me a shipping quote. And it gave me a total with north carolina tax. I emailed them yesterday morning and am yet to hear from them yet.

That's the thing with GMPD, they won't give you the price for shipping until after you have already purchased the items, then you get ass raped. And if CED says the factory is backordered, then GMPD will be too.

Yep, I'm going to have to wait on it then. I didn't know about the expensive shipping until you guys told me about it. +1 rep for the people who helped. Thanks!!

Just jumping in here.

GM has said that the extruded exhaust manifold will be on back order until July. I have been on the phone with them everyday trying to get them where ever I can to fill orders.
One day they tell me they have inventory and are shipping them then the next day they don’t show up.

I have to apologize to everyone who placed orders this last week we have people on vacation and been totally swamped. To make thinks worse we didn't get an expected order of GM exhaust that we thought we were going to get so that has didn't help us processing orders either.

Always feel free to call me if you have questions about your order. I have my direct phone number right on my posts so that its easy for everyone to contact me.

I was in such a rush to write my earlier post that I forgot to mention that I got my exhaust and stage 2 kit from CED and they were awesome. It was shipped the same day I placed the order and the prices and service were great. Plus they gave me some really nice GMPP stickers and stuff. Keep up the good work CED, sucks that GM is jerking you around with parts.
