It's hard to tell when someone is sarcastic on the internet, but your right, if you read it the way it is, some would probably think "Off road use... ", but to clarify for some, this means Race Track use only. Not 4 wheeling like you do with a jeep or truck, but drag racing, or Auto X or something of that sort.

cant be a blower swap. the eaton gen 7 m62 wont be out for years. ive seen the diagrams for them, theres less then 10 floating around the world. from performance shops to performance shops. and even with that blower real gains wont be realized until a piston swap, at the very least. The blower that was used in the ss/sc time attack car wasnt swapped, it was just geared, thus allowing more power per LB of boost.

sorry 4 coming out like an *******, but its just ludacris to even think of life after stage 3, stage 4 i can believe. You know, injectors and a reflash, but stage 5?

i spoke to someone very high in GM in September and they said Stage 3 would be as high as it goes. he also told me it takes a year to come out with there parts. so unless this is happening real quick. i doubt it will happen

i just got off the phone with a buddy that engineers @ GM. He called me back and told me the highest is stage 3. He also explained how involving it is to get into HOM <high octane mode>. Its actually more than just pushing a button! And its HOM directions are differant for the Pursuit, RL and SS/SC! In the SS/SC you have to turn the radio ON. Then turn it off. Then you gotta push some crazy combination of buttons on your steering wheel. The 2nd it knocks or detects too much boost the car will throw you back to the 91 octane tune.

It pisses me off that stage three for this car is some NOS bs that nobody wants except for a hardcore few. Why the hell can't stage 3 be 60# injectors, a 2.5, and a good reflash, and then let stage 4 be that stupid NOS thing?

Screw it, my warranty is up after 36k anyway, hello aftermarket.

i think it would be a good idea to offer blower porting as part of a kit, or maybe a pre ported blower that they swap out for you. the kits would definitely have to have focus on strengthening the engine so that it can handle massive power gains. the biggest concern for me would be the suspension. i doubt it can handle a really big power gain. "AXLES GO SSSSSNNNAAPP!!!" the same goes for the tranny. these are the things that make it tough to believe that GM would come out with these kits, they would be REALLY expensive.

I have a PS 2 controller hooked up to my PCM and when I want high octane mode all I have to do is hit up, down, left, right, triangle, triangle, circle, square, up, x,circle, left, right, left, right, circle, triangle, square, up, down, up, down, left, left, right, right, x, x, square, triangle, and then select to activate it and FYI I have been the test vehicle for Stage 8.

oh boy.. I still don't even believe that Stage 3. I'll believe it when I see it. But as for Stage 4 and 5.. Why would GM ever do that? Wouldn't GM Stage 3 = Mopar Stage 3. Why would there be a need to go higher than that. What else would they do besides having the customer now pay for an over-priced cobalt. I would assume the Stage 4 and 5 would cost around $4,000. So now we have almost a $30,000 vehicle. If that's the case LS2 GTO FTW!!

What does the new gen blower do to equate to a piston change to maximize gains? Is a compression ratio change necessary? Or are you simply stating the next gen M62 will have higher tolerances for boost to the point of production piston failure? I could understand a piston swap with a twin-screw supercharger since unlike roots style blowers they compress air within the housing itself. Not at all challenging what you said, just curious.
