These threads always turn into the Valentine vs. Escort, but I'd say go with the Escort X50 because it work great and will save you some money. My X50 has work to many time to count.

Red and Blue are the same model just different color display. I went with the red just to save $40.00

Nice buy and good luck.

Remember that it's a radar detector not a police detector. Alot of radar newbee's think that if a police car is around then you detector will go off, that is wrong. The police have to have there radar on for you to pick them up.

Whats the point of buying an SS SC if your gonna just drive slow? If you like to drive slow then you should have bought a slower model that cost less.

i dont always speed on purpose. I enjoy it because it goes off when I'm not paying attention to my speed.

Very good point, sometimes a passenger in the car will tell me that my detector isn't working because it didn't go off after passing a cop car. I just tell them that they have to have their radar on to work properly. BTW, I have a Cobra radar detector and have had no problems with ($60 from Target ). Would have gotten the Valentine, but too pricey for me. I like the fact that it gives the direction of the cop, but oh well.

yeah, i've had people tell me the same thing. gets annoying having to explain to them how it works.
