Goodbye chevy

Ok well last night i test drive a 1.8L ex 2006 civic and was not that dissapointed in the power as much as hought . All I have to say is the fit and finish are SOOOOOO much better on the interior and exterior of the civic vs the ss/sc. Although the ss/sc is a very fun car to drive I drive the ex civic and was very impressed keeping in mind I owned a 2000 si previously. bottom line i think I am going to to get the ex civc I drive a lot for work and for the amount of miles i drive the resale will be much much much much better on this car and I am sick of driving to my chevy dealer to get little **** fixed to the cheap plastic interior. Also it sdeos so much better on fuel as well as I don't have to put premium in the damn thing. It has been fun and I appreciate the advice some of you have given but I think I have had it with Chevy...... Peace I 'm out

Sorry you feel that way, to each there own but why a Civic? The resale value isn't THAT great. What **** on the SS was a problem all the time? (Making Mental Note to look out for things on my end)

WOW bro, how can you go from an ss/sc to a 1.8 civic ex?
That's like night and day when it comes to power and performance.
I understand wanting to bail on the Balt because of the issues but
at least go with the SI. It sucks you're jumping ship bro......

Well sorry to see you move on. In the arena of performance cars... well the civic isn't one. At least not the EX. Best of luck and I hope it fulfills the sensible side.

Because right now I am pampering my fun side! lol.

His civic will last a lot longer than our cars. Im sure he knows he is losing the power. He gains reliability and gas money back in his pocket along with it. The accord has a much better resale value though, the civics arent that great on resale.

Well, the Cobalt SS S/C I think is what you said you had, its way sportier, but in this point in time, If you need gas milage and a car that will take over 200k miles if you take care of it... I think the civic is the better choice. Good luck man, and give the people @ honda hell.

I doubt he keeps it more than a few years since "resale value" is one of the features that attracted him to it.

I would get an Si cause I had a 2000 before I got my ss.sc, but there is a 3month wait for them and it is out of my price range due to the fact that my POS ss/sc is worth less now in one year than my payoff amount which I think is hrse ****. Don't get me wrong, the ss/sc is a fun car and I know I will be getting a slower car but as soon as I sat inside it just felt like a nicer, more durable car. life of the car and gas mileage is the main reason. I put on a lot of miles for work and I have to let you in on a little secret, Hondas hold there value just a little bit better than a chevy cava...cobalt.
things that went wrong: top of the shift knob broke 2 times, getting replaced on monday again, the trim around the monroof buttin broke 3 times, the trim aroud the window buttons chipped and the leather pulled from other and the fact that the interior is made from a hard plastic, I have scratches from my shoes that won't come off unlike the civic that has a soft leather-like material.. Don't get me wrong I won't bash the cobalt's but if The new Si was out when I was considering this car, I would own an Si now after just testing the ex. I am 26 years old I don't need a car that sounds like an 18 year old driving it I need something built better ( fit and finish wise. )

I love how when everyone who buys another type of car automatically resorts to bashing their ex-cobalt. If you're really that worried about small problems, DON'T BUY A FIRST YEAR CAR....sh*t happens, enjoy your new daily commuter. I;m sure the cobalt will go to a new, more understanding and appreciative person

That they do. My '96 Civic with 91k miles is still worth of $4000. My guess before researching it woulda been closer to $2k.

well, the SS/Sc and the 1.6 liter honda are 2 completely different cars, in 2 completely different categories, designed for 2 completely different driving experiences

Its funny though when you add up the vehicle content the civic is supposed to be more domestic than the cobalt

hey man honda civics are not all the great piece of cake either.. Im sorry but what a Honda Delerships did to me Im would never consider a HOnda unless its an SI but I would still take the SS?SC over the SI more horsepower and less expansive than the SI.

Anyways I was in line to get a 4door 06 civic i needed a car bad and that came up but I would have prefereed a 2 door. Its great on gas and its a really realiable car but now with the new dash gadge system, since its all electrical I wouldnt pick up the cell phone while driving. I did right after I purchased the car ( I did will never make that mistake, took it back right after 10 mins of drving it a bitch fight for them to take it back long story)
anways I picked up my cell phone and you know how you get that werid static beeping sound on cell phones when there's any electrical interferance around ( i dont know if you know what im talking about) but you get that trhough the radio you can hear an eco of your self in it and on your phone you hear the werid beeping sound.

I took the car right back and plus, theres no black interior avaliable its only gray and tan.

But good luck to you man I would go with the Si
