Headlight bulbs are a B****

Anyone have any secerts on how to get the darn headlight assey out so I can change my blown out bulb.

The headlight unit wont come out past the fender and bumper corver enough to replace bulb.

Am I missing something??
I took the 2 silver bolts out and it came loose but just wont pass the fender and bumper cover..Ahhhhhhh.

Thanks for any help.

Ps.. I did do a search and all that came up was replacing fog light bulbs.

You're going to want to push the inside corner (lower part near the grille) in first, then you should be able to wiggle the outside of the housing loose, and pull it out toward the side of the car. It's a bitch, but can be done.

just wiggle it till it comes out. you have to kinda angle the headlight to get it out.

did you pop the clips?

i found it easier because then you can full the front piece back, gives you more wiggle room.

i just changed mine to PIAA bulbs. The headlight assembly is a bitch to get out, but once you figure it out, it's easy.

I've been working on/with cars for 15+ years. I don't touch the bulbs; they are cheap 80W/100W bulbs; I've bought several and so have other people and they all blow; high wattage, very low cost = low quality with an expected short life. I also have 74,000 miles on my car with a lot of lighted driving. The bulbs are cheap, new it from the get go; they were just a temporary; a lot more temp than I intended.

THANKS!!

Yeah, the new Hella bulbs (called High Performance) are made completely in house. This was done to create the highest and most stringent of Hella standards to compete with/out perform PIAA. They are both great companies with great history.
