Hello

First off hello all.

I have been lurking for a while and have learned alot about the platform.

I recently purchased an 05 Cobalt SS/SC. Its a solid learning experience for me with forced induction and this being the first manual i have daily driven.

I can plainly see the amount of care you guys have for your cars and ALOT of you have Amazingly clean cars.
I hope to bring mine back to brilliance.
75k miles on the car
Flex pipe is broken right now, thats the only drivability issue. Pretty loud..
Otherwise its entirely cosmetic repairs.
The PO has apparantly abused the car to some degree as the body has lots of imperfections.
Worst of it is the front lip is held on by screws. It isnt noticeable unless its on the lift though.
Scrapes and scratches and some chipping paint on the bumper around the lower portion of the car.
I have checked the alignment since it was obviously bumped into more than once and its golden.
No major body panel damage, just minor scratches including ""****"" keyed into the LR quarter. But its Barely legible and not easy to see unless your actually looking for it. (Thats in my opinion the most annoying body flaw)

The interior is in Excellent condition aside from a small gouge in center Vent trim(That doesnt come out seperate from the dash does it?
It doesnt look like it to me..) and Shift boot leather is peeling a bit.
Otherwise the Black leather SS seats are clean, all the plastics inside are clean, and non faded, buttons are 95% unfaded. Carpets clean and all mats are there.

So enough of the boring stuff heres some pics.
My friend gave me the headlights when i bought it since he had and didnt need them.

Just basic things, nothing fancy. Intake, exhaust lower it a bit clean up the damage real good and have a good reliable clean car. And maybe work on stage kits and beyond down the road when the means become availabe.

You know i wasnt so sure i liked the yellow, but it grew on me and its definitely staying. But its so hard to keep clean... Yellows such a dirt and bug magnet... But this car looks so damn sporty in yellow.

One way or another this cars a blast to drive and wish id had it sooner.

At least we can agree on cobalts! Didn't even consider yellow until I saw mine on the showroom floor.

If you think yellow is hard you should try white lol

After owning a white and black car I believe yellow handles dirt better, by far.

One thing I noticed about having a yellow car is that, I don't really notice how dirty it actually is until I wash it. I mean I'll look at at it and say to myself "Man I really need to wash it, but when I get time to actually wash it I'm like "holy **** it was dirty!!!"

keep your intake! no need for an aftermarket one, just mod the stocker

you have no idea how hard those are to find lol

^Good point. Unless your going all out on SC set-up, then you grab a 3.5 from ottp. I'm currently rocking a modded stock intake on my tvs set-up and it performs extremely well. And don't get suckered into the K&N filter...there were flow test done on the filters and stock really is the best for your engine

Good advice. I never would have guessed on the intake.
TBH I kinda just wanted intake for aesthetics. And i always keep stock parts when i replace (if its still good) just incase.
But i dont want to hinder performance either.
So factory it stays for the time being.
Thanks

The aftermarket doesn't hurt performance but it's not an upgrade performance wise to the modified oem one, so your just paying for the look if you go aftermarket

So. How do you know?

I actually wanna hear. Dyno swaps?
And i think every one of you who have posted have those same m52 wheels.
Those look so nice on these cars.
I think thats gonna be one of my first look fors.
And obviously this thing needs lowered.
Are there any GOOD lowering springs to rEplace factory with factory struts or is that something bettervleft for full on upgrade. Coilovers etc.
As i am a very poor man at the moment cheaper is better but im not afraid to spend when i really want something.

I love the M52's. Gunmetal/anthracite grey M52's would look killer with our yellow.

I say either black or the gunmetal would look amazing with yellow, but I kinda like black wheels with yellow imo

YES!
M52s in a nice satin black would look great on this car.
PO tinted all glass(except windshield)
And with the A/M headlights being black i think it will just look great.
Also thinking do black trim. But i dont want to get gaudy and go overkill.
I want CLEAN.
As i see too many people who just go nuts with trimming and i think it looks horrendous 90% of the time. Very rarely is it tasteful.
So im thinking black emblems with blacked out taillights, probably find a nice set of LED tails.

Also.
On another note.
Armrest?
Lol.
I junked a cobalt LT at work the other day and before we sent it on its way i snagged the center pieces for the armrest.
I was thinking of getting it laser etched with the seats SS logo on it to make it look like it is supposed to be there. But.....
Should i do it? Does it fit well? Does it pose any issues?
Or will it just look shitty.
I dont want shitty.

Ive dealt with shitty for far too long.
The blue/silver 98 neon in previous pics has been my DD for about 8 years.
Granted i love that car its been amazing, its just not pretty anymore lol plus i gotta put a waterpump in it.. So its sitting atm.
