Ss tc front struts, Koni yellow rears, Powell xyz springs or if you want a tad more low Ottp springs

Don't forget rotated mounts from Ottp or powell

I second the armrest. I feel it is needed and it still blends well with the interior.

Snail, you're brave painting the lower door trim white.

Sooooo just noticed.i was lookin for armrest pics, and came across a pic of a block of pot metal.
Only to realise it was the bracket the armrest mounts too.
I guess that bracket is NOT already in my SS is it?
If not i guess ill be waiting a bit to put it in, i had assumed that bracket was a part of the center framing.
!!!!!
Damn me for not being super thorough...
O well i guess it only costs like 20$ anyhow

That interior looks incredible.

Lots of testing over the years with the many different intakes that are offered for these cars. Unless you have a high power TVS build, the factory intake will not hinder your performance.

I make 299whp+ with a modified airbox, factory filter, and intake plumbing.

It doesn't store much but that little bit extra sure comes in handy.

A week after i bought it i drove from PA to MI.
The whole time i didnt know what to do with my arm, it was so wierd not having one.
I think it will be much more cozy now on longer drives.
Im not so much concerned with storage space as i dont generally have alot with me. Cards and air guage is about it. And that goes in glovebox fine and dandy.

I just keep my hand on the shifter, or rest it on my thigh.

I had the armrest at one time, and the cheap rubber material irritated the crap out of the skin on my arm.

Not to mention it got annoying when you have a passenger and you need to release the parking brake.

It def looks nice installed though, and the extra storage was nice for small things.

Did they make a leather lid?
Or did it only come with cheap rubbery materials?
If theres a legit leather lid ill swap it out asap. Just for looks though, otherwise its just nice to have a place to rest your arm on long drives.

I have a few extra things I carry daily with me so the glove box is usually full or I prefer to leave it closed. That is where I keep my CCW when it is not on me and my serial connector for my LC-1 wideband is now back in there as well with a USB adapter. Since it is full the armrest is useful for my cards and pressure gauge.

So i was looking at P/Ns for some things, and i was wondering
Does the base cobalt LT use the same parts as the SS?
My buddy picked up a wrecked LT with 15k miles to take the motor, and asked if i wanted any parts before he chopped it up.
So i came up w. A list and everything appears to match.

Struts/springs
Blower motor
MAF sensor
Motor mounts
Black mirror covers
ABS module
Master cylinder
Power steering motor
Few other odds and ends.

Am i correct in this that i can use these on mine if needed? I always like to have extra parts plus they are so low mileage and garage kept its like new and i can have them for helping him swap motors around. So why pass it up.

If they fit is there anything else you guys think i should grab while available?
Is there anything i mentioned that wouldnt fit? Or work?

You could use some parts not sure about everything but the springs and struts are a downgrade

Hmm when i looked at acdelco p/n they matched. Why?
And could you do me the favor of breaking down the difference between the base, fe3 and fe5 suspension components?

I mean obviously ones better but what kind of differences are we talking here?
My struts in the rear are dangerously soft.
If im taking a turn at high speed and hit bumps my back end will try to get away from me. So suspension is a must have upgrade right now.

You want a pretty stiff set-up for the rear otherwise the rear will squat taking traction from the front.

Unless your gonna grab a set of very expensive coilovers, Koni yellows would prob be the best rear shock absorber you can get.

Ya its pretty soft now.
If i dig into it im looking at clouds and do lose traction pretty easy.
My 98 neon used to have konis on it and i loved that handling. Was amazing.
But im wondering, if im gonna spend 600$ on the koni Ys and a few hundred more on some good lowering springs should i just at that point say to hell with budget and get some BCs?BC Racing Coilovers - Suspension & Brakes
Wouldnt be much more in the long run.
Any pros and cons to the switch?

And if i didnt already say it im sorry for asking so many questions. But sometimes its hard to find some info and its just nice to hear someones actual current opinion.
I have hillbilly rigged the **** outa things on my neon over the years but i am refusing to do so on the cobalt. I want to do things right with this car and im very unfamiliar with the ""right"" way. Lol
