Like I said, cold air intake is the best place to start. As far as brand goes, that's mostly personal preference.

Start with this;

First, what kind of a Cobalt do you have? Then go to that engine types performance section and look at the thread in there. The 2.2 Section for instance has a sticky that lists all of the known aftermarket engine parts. That should get you started.

I'm assuming you mean the person who called her "dude"? If so, that's sorta become a unisex term anymore. I'm a girl and I get "Dude, did you see that?" "Dude, what's up?" People are so used to saying it they don't bother to think if they're saying to a guy or a girl.

well since you took 3 yrs in automechanics you should be able to see whats going on in the forums. Also look at peoples sigs and setups usually if you find more people with a certain setup it probably means that its better then others, not always but its safer to use what others use so if you have problems and your not a genius you can ask about the problem and people might have an idea to help you out.

two things needed to help us help you is what cobalt you have, and what your looking for in hp.

If your running the SS/SC the stage 2 kit i recomend because its under warranty and if your asking what you should put in a warranty is very helpful. Cold air intake, exhaust.

what your able to do to increase performance depends on the Cobalt mainly.

You can get a little more power out of you 2.4L if you slap on a Cold Air Intake. Seems like one of the favorites is the Injen:

How much do you want to spend? The new Hahn Racecraft turbo kit is just weeks away at about $3500.

Wesker's garage has a flash tune for the 2.4 available right away.
HP Tuners also supports the 2.4.

Otherwise you are left with bolt-ons, and there are plenty of those.

Riot get your intake from Turbotech racing and your catback from gmparts direct and you have a choice of headers, check the vendor section

thank you for understanding, people are so picky on a casual forum.
