Help...new cobalt owner

I have the pioneer stereo system and I was wondering why whenever I turn it off and then back on it goes from custom equalizer to stupid clasical. Can I change this so I don't have a switch it back to custom every time? thanks. Also does anyone know if I can make one of my trailblazers key fob's to work on this car instead cause my original one broke. Thanks

Steve

Welcome! I've never seen that problem before, may want to ask the dealer if you're still under warranty?

Disconnect battery for a few minutes maybe? And as for the key, no, 06+ standard has all chips in keys. But hey they might be able to copy the security from the car but I doubt it?

Also your member # is 28000.....nice and even and Welcome to the site.

well, I disconnected the battery for over an hour today and still same thing. Somehow it remembers all my presets like button 1 and 2 and all that but it doesn't keep the clock setting. Also it still automatically goes to stupid clasical equalizer setting even if I have it on custom when I shut it off. Just turn it back on and back to clasical. ****, it even switched to clasical when I just switch from preset #1 92.9FM to preset #2 97.5FM!! Maybe I need to store the custom setting somehow? thanks

You can set the equalizer up for each channel. say you have XM channel 21 saved in your #1 preset slot. What you need to do is put it on channel 21 then set the equalizer the way you want it for that channel and then hold the #1 button down until it beeps and it will store the setting for that station. Repeat for all the other presets. Works with XM, AM, and FM presets and you must program each station individually...

Hrmm, I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.

Yea I had forgotten about it and I just had a new radio put in my car about a week ago and had to go through it all over again. If you don't save the equlizer info with the preset then every time you change the channel it actually resets to the default settings...

Like said, it will hold certain settings for different stations. I had this in the beginning as well. On top of having to set the setting for each station (i believe you need to set the station and equalizer, then save it to a button) in the beginning it would reset on me as well. I had forgot about it until now because it went away... dont remember how.
