help?! pioneer deck won't turn on in accessory?!
I'm reletively new, I bought a cobalt with a pioneer deck in it, sweet didn't really like gm's stock radio anyways, its a 2005 I ran a 12GAUGE wire from the battery in the trunk to a 30amp pilot relay and hooked the signal wire to the fuse panel on a ignition wire that also has power in. Accessory mode it seems to work but, the relay gets hot and I checked if there's any amperage going thru the ignition wire and on. The "amp clamp" on my. Fluke multimeter it says 0.2- 0.4 amps the wire has a fuse good for 5 amps at the moment as I found a 5 amp fuse in there along With a lot of wires cut with a piece of the accesory wire for the radio on them some were actually neutral wires sadly so the guy who wired the radio didn't no what he was doing really but this is more a question about the relay
I wired the relay with a neg(-) wire and pos(+) for the 2 pins for the signal to flip the relay and allow the wire direct from the battery to power the radio
The. 2 remaining pins go to the radio accessory wire and the 12V power supply wire.
Should I just go switched power? Although forgetting the switch being left on wouldn't be forgiving at all... But the relay got warm and there is a 10 amp fuse on the pioneer. Deck and the relay is 30amps so I don't see why its getting warm.... Any sugestions would be greatly. Appreciated
