Hit 16PSI Tonight...

Just chiming in to fellow lsj owners. Hitting 16Psi has never happened before, so I just wanted to see if this is more common than I think. I'm not posting this asking if my car is broken, because it isn't.

My mods: GMS2, 2.5" custom exhaust, injen CAI, one step colder plugs, 2.9" pulley.

Just to clarify: I had a new cat installed in 2012, boost guage is mechanical... Since 2012, I have only put 50k on the car. Boost guage was not fluctuating during WOT, just straight 16psi. Car pulls like a wild ape!

Ant thoughts? It was cold tonight! That is what I'm assuming...

Belt slippage? More boost is good anyways.

I mean, yes, 16 is a number you can hit. It's a little on the high side, but it's isn't exactly weird or a cause for concern.

Cooler air = more boost. I hesitate to believe anything in California can be cold.

Mine does 16 psi on the 77.9 GMS2 pulley @ WOT. My only other mod is a K&N typhoon. I have a 2.9 and a 3 inch DP waiting to be installed.

No.

Good batch of fuel has nothing to do with your boost number.

A cooler intake air charge will increase the boost numbers a bit.

Time for a free flowing header/dp setup.

When it's colder outside I can hit 16 psi. When it's warmer I'm around 14 or 15 psi. I try to not spend a whole lot of time around 16 psi though haha

Meh. It is fine as long as there is fuel and spark for those levels.

I wanna see what psi I can get with my 2.7 before I sell the car lol.

I only see 14.5 psi @ 7500 rpm.... meh

Remember kiddies boost on a roots blower is a measure of restriction.

Open up flow, boost will drop, and power will increase.

I only see 13 lbs with my 2.7, maybe 14 or 15 on a hot day.

boost pressure is relative to both elevation and breathing mods.

Like staged said, its a measure of restriction.
18.1 psi on a 2.9 is not exactly a good thing solely because it is "more boost." It isn't bad because there is nothing wrong with my car, but it also means that it would really benefit from more room to breath.
