How to disconnect the battery?

I know this is probably going to sound stupid. I have an 07 SS/SC and I'm about to install the AEM intake. I want to disconnect the battery but I'm not sure if you just have to disconnect the negative terminal, red terminal, or both?

To install an intake?

But to answer your question, just the negative.

Ya, I want to disconnect the battery so the pcm can reset and relearn with a more agressive program.

just pull the negative (black) for a few minutes... that will allow the computer to clear.

always use the negative, it does not emit a spark if it touches metal, thus safer...

i think it is actually a good idea to remove the ground, even when just cleaning the engine bay, because you never know anymore...

Ha, it does emit a spark if it touches metal, but it'snothing to worry about. It's a small spark and does no damage. But you don't really need to disconnect it for an intake install.

In the directions it tells you to disconnect the battery. This is so the ECU will reset. If you don't, you could throw a code.

I think the SS/SC's have a bigger problem with this.

I finshed the install a few hours ago. The supercharger whine is louder than I had expected. So far no CEL's thrown and the only thing is that the RPM's seem to be slightly different until maybe the computer relearns. What i mean is that during idle the RPMs go up and down but not by much and I had to give it a bit more gas than normal when I'm moving from a dead stop.
