how do you remove the studs on the manifold?

i have the stock exhaust manifold, and the studs that connect it to the downpipe snapped in half, and i need to figure out how to take them out, i have the replacements. what kind of tool would be needed? also how should i put the new ones in and have it stay snug?

i'm guessing by the star shape on the end that is what i would need to put them in, but like i said the ones i need to take out are snapped in half so theres just a lttle bit of the screw lookin part showing and then the smooth round part and thats it.

well im to late but I used a grinder to flatten two opposite sides on the studs then a little penetrating oil, a pair of vice grips, and a little heat and voila they came right out. Good deal getting them out though
