How does GMPP touring give same HP gains as Perf?
I am curious how GMPP can make a touring " more quiet" exhaust and still have the same power gains as the performance? For it to be quieter, it has to have different path areas for the exhaust gases or have more of that sound barrier insulation. This would restrict the exhaust more making it less performant?

Anyone, I mean I think i prefer the sound of touring, but if it effect gains AT ALL I want performance. And I cant seem to understand how they can give the same amount of power?!

If you have better insulation on a pipe of the same diamater you will have a different sound.
Also they could slightly change the shape of the pipe to get a different sound without restricting air flow at all.
Just a couple thoughts.

True, they could make the muffler and resonator bigger to add more insulation. Very interesting... now anyone know if they are the same size and dimentions??

Do this... and feel a little silly...
Make a Waaaa sound.. Now think of the shape of you mouth.
Now make a
Ooooo sound and think of the shape of your mouth.
Try to hit the same note and notice the difference in sounds.
If they use more of an oval shape for the exhaust for one than the other that could also constitute a different note.
Think of the tinny note the rectangle exhaust boxes make on Trans ams.

Also note that the touring exhaust is more expensive could be stronger or different resonating note metals used that cost more. Or they are just hitting the elite amongst us a bit harder in the pocketbook.

i doubt insulation and stuff in the mufflers cut performance, i hope not, because i've got a magnaflow muffler and the loooong SS resonator. i still gotta get a downpipe/high flow cat. after that i might have to add another resonator. i wanna be the most unique sounding cobalt. my header didnt even make my exhaust loud
