How much will our insurance go up??

How much will insurance to up if/when Chevy makes the 2.0 Turbo?? If it will be rated at 260 HP and still weigh the same then i would imagine there will be an increase. My cousin pays $2800 per year for his SRT4...He only paid $1800 for his 02 Mustang GT he traded for it. He was told this was due to the horsepower to weight ratio.

I pay $170 a month for:
1. 2005 SRT4
2. 2001 Jetta
3. Renters Insurance
4. Diamond Ring Insurance
Im 22 years old too.... AMERICAN FAMILY INSUR. FTW!
Dont forget to look at driving history, customer history, the company your at, and about a billion other factors that are in the mix.
I found out for my LS that insurance for me would be the same for the SS/SC. And right now i only pay 133 for insurance at full coverage.
It might go up somewhat, but I wouldnt expect much.

I myself had considered an SRT4 this past Feb...My insurance would have gone up $60 a month for the SRT4. I then had an 02 GTI. When i bought my Cobalt LS it only went up like $3....the SS/SC would have been the same. My agent told me that they figure "performance vehicles" on 3 levels based on the horsepower to weight ration....the SRT4 was on the same level as the Corvette.
My driving record is perfect....no accidents or tickets & I pay $1800 per year for my 06 Cobalt, a 99 Audi A6, an 88 VW GTI & home owners insurance....I'm 21. I bought the LS instead of the SS/SC because i wanted to wait for the Turbo but if the insurance is going to go up that much I may just end up getting the SS/SC next summer.

It wont go up that much. I went from a MazdaSpeed Protege (Turbo) to an SRT4 and my insurance went up $8
And that car is only 170BHP opposed to the SS/SC its a lot slower and a lot less HP. The insurance wont go up that much guys.
After selling insurance for two years...
the HP ratio has something to do with it (as well as sex, age, MVR, zip code, amount of coverage, # of policies with same company, etc) but figure in the cost to repair the vehicle if you were to make a claim... it will cost more to get new parts for new vehicles (cobalt) than an older vehicle (where parts and mechanical know-how are more common & less expensive)
insurance companies are like a casino - they play the numbers and are in business to make money, not lose it - TRUST ME... and they make LOTS of money...
Needless to say, I don't work in the insurance industry anymore...

Insurance Companies can lick my *****
They rip you off, simple ass that.
It really should be called "In Case **** Happens" and if "****" doesnt happen, shouldn't I get my money back? Or shouldn't it roll over? I think it should...
