I have to switch my steering wheel also since it's getting torn but I think I'm just going to find a whole assembly and swap it instead of going this airbag removal route...seems like a lot more work lmao

Would one from an 07 hhr swap over just fine staged? Or is that just the cover that swaps over

You would need an 07+ wheel to add the HHR SS airbag.

Yeah that's what I mean. Will a whole assembly from an 07 be plug and play on an 06?

I don't think the wheel control harness would entirely work; the 07+ wheels have the dic controls on them and i think some other stuff.

Maybe some of the funtions would work though?

Either way, too late, my other wheel is currently enroute to some place to get a suede cover stitched on

i thought i read a few days ago that the 07+ wheels have a different wire harness that plugs into the wheel, and it wont work for an 06/05.

there are tons of 06 wheels on ebay.

Correct.

That's what riceburner was getting at, and I over looked.

i also heard from a guy who had his car posted for sale on here that he put on a vette wheel (which was bad ass) and it plugged in just fine, he just had to get rid of cruise control since the vette wheel didnt have it.

oh and of course that is suede wrapped dog gonit

o well i don't want the red thread anyways. good looking out though!

just a thought; anyone good with wiring could probably splice the harness together with whatever controls they want, such as cruise control and volume and such; probably wouldn't be a huge deal tbh.

You certainly could, and i'll tell ya what. The wrap costs around 100 bucks i think. i now have a spare wheel you could take off my hands. and on the redline site they have a section of people you can send your wheel to in america for cheaper shipping to stitch it for ya. the person i chose charges 120, which includes return shipping. i will certainly post my experience and final product on here

Had forgotten about dic controls as well....damn it lol will look for a steering wheel from an 06 then. They are ugly as heck though haha. Maybe I'll get it stitched up locally instead.

That corvette wheel looks niice. Minus the red stitching lol

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/part...s-sale-312389/if anyone is looking for a wheel, I've got one left to sell. riceburner purchased the poly wheel but the leather wrapped wheel is still available.
