How Safe is the COBALT SS/SC

My Brothers 2007 Civic SI was stolen last night right in front of my house. My 07 Cobalt SS/SC was right behind it. Now im worried that the dumb bastard that should burn in hell will try and come back for mine. I heard our cars have chips in the key and with out it it's impossible to steal unless they have a flat bed is that true. How safe is the Cobalt SS/SC and i thought the new Civic Sis had chips too?

nothing is steal proof, unless you keep it in a locked garage that can't be opened. haven't seen maybe more than 1 or 2 people post that their cobalt was stolen.

civic, on the other hand, is by far the most stolen car. there was a civic track day a few months back and something like 11 cars got taken from the parking lot.

I am not really sure but if someone steals it and you have Onstar, they can locate your car unless the satelitte signal is blocked.

it is true that the car will not start without the original key. and the dealer will only make a new one if you have the original one. keys are ******* expencive too.

most of the time when a car is stolen, it is broken down and stipped for parts. people don't really care if the car will start or not.

yeah i dont have the onstar but im sure theres some way to deactivate the onstar. theifs are smart little bastards. I just heard that no matter what with out the chip the car cant be started only way of being taken is by flatbed. so im guessing alot of thiefs knowing that wouldnt waste their time unless they knew it had like 10000 dollars worth of mods in it. I dont know i just hope my **** is safe insurance covers the **** but its a pain in the ass.

And i know cars are stripped ASAP of the parts they wont then left. Im not worried about the aftermath whats done is done Most people wont go thru the trouble to use a flat bed. I just want to know if the car can hold up against a theif with this so called CHIP. Because im pretty sure the 07 SI has 1

It can be stolen, it can be started. There are ways around this, but it takes more than the normal thief to know how to do it.
