Question I have the code P0442 i need help.

After i put one Headers a check engine like keeps going on. The code is p0442 evaporative emission control system leak detected small leak. Does anyone have any idea if it was the headers or something else happened I would like some help. Thanks

Could possibly be an exhaust leak. Try tightening everything up. Have you tried deleting the code yet? I got the same thing on my dad's Buick, reset it last week, and it hasn't popped back up yet.

This isn't going to have anything to do with your exhaust system directly. This is for evap emmisions only. Now you may have caused a problem when you put the header on.

Check fuel cap first, if it's loose it will cause this code.

Next check hose connections at the purge valve up on the side of your cylinder head, Also check the wiring connection at your purge valve. Could also be an issue back at vent valve by the fuel tank...
