Normal everyday people, and people that respect cars for what they are will leave positive fedback on these cars. I for one like a car for what it is, I start hating cars when extreme fan boys claim they are better. Those are the ones that leave bad feedback and compliments on our cars, extreme fanboys of civics, eclipses, tiburons... etc... whatever. Tell them to blow it out there ass as they are kissing yours when you blow them away on the track.

i think its just because everyone is a little bit of a fanboy for what they drive/like. i see countless GM fanboys on this site who knock any car that isnt a GM. its the same for any brand car i think, you defend what you drive.

for me, i have an LT. i like it and dont at the same time haha, but for what it is, i like it. the other day i had some kid in the passenger seat of a hyundai elantra or something like that yell out the window "i hope you **** up your car" to me while i was sitting at a redlight as he passed me. ive also had a couple old guys at a cigar shop next to the car shop i go to admire my car and tell me how nice it is.

Never had any problems with mine. Loved the car when I got it, dumped a ton of cash in it, got it featured on two websites and in a calender, and love it more than ever these days! Even with 50k, still runs as strong as the day I bought it thanks to proper maintnence and a solid tune. And other than a door ding, the car looks pretty much flawless.

It makes me said to say it... but if you want to be part of the Sport Compact scene and not get hated on all the time, don't drive an American car...

While there are plenty of people out there who appreciate the Cobalt (including those who have not driven in one) there will always be twice as many haters.

So true. Sport compacts started out as a primarily Asian group of cars. They ruled the 4-cyl performance segment for a number of years. So when Americans tried nudgeing their offerings (Cougar, Focus, Cavalier, Cobalt, etc etc), alot of the sport compact scene was against it. Nowadays most people are pretty open minded....but theres still a few ******** that refuse to think outside the box. I myself used to be an "import only" guy back when I was a teenager. But I grew up and realized anybody can make a nice car.

I agree. I think over here in the Metro Detroit area, there's obviously more domestics & more muscle cars due to Detroit being the "Motor City" and home to the big three.

But even with the sport compact scene out here, the only really accepted domestic sport compact out here is the Neon SRT-4.

Although I do get a lot of positive attention by people with my SS/SC.

I wouldn't hate my car so much if it wasn't for little things breaking or wearing out every other week

it gets old having to replace or repair whatever broke!

I'm just happy it gets excellent gas mileage, has plenty of power, and doesn't leave me stranded or else it would be gone

I've had my car two years, and only the silver trim pieces around my window switches have BARELY started to peel. All the silver trim across my dash is still perfect though.

I got a lot of compliments on my SS/SC from all walks of car guys, never really any haters except the occasional fanboy SRT-4 (beat him in a race) or EVO(LOL @ him for spending $40k plus). Its the motor city dude anything american is a fully accepted car regardless of street cred. I work at the budweiser distributor in Clinton Township the VP the owners son has a Yellow Z06 he just bought when i got my SS, i parked it right next to his and ran into the office when i came out he started talking to me about my car and how clean and cool it looked with the red interior and such and then we started talking about other cars in general fast cars of course it was just nice to see someone who owns about 15 different cars one being a Z06 actually be interested in a SS/SC when compared to some asswipe on gratiot that thinks hes the f*cking **** because he just put a Mopar BOV on his SRT-4. I don't care if my car is accepted or not, i like my car thats why i bought it.
Oh btw the VP just put Magnesium wheels on his Z0Sick.

I don't care if i make it rich and can afford 10 cars like he is, i'll keep my damn Cobalt till i die. And im a Porsche Lover

I Owned one and thought it was an unreliable piece of ****. Too expensive to get into the 11's, Supercharger is SO limited, Motor is good for about 350WHP. Front Wheel Drive makes everything I said 10 times worse. For 15K its good, Fow what all you guys pay for new ones, lol there are WAY WAY WAY better options.

Well no offense but i would be guessing you drive a GTO? I was going to buy one of those but i thought there were way better options then one of those, i don't know how much you paid for yours but for being what they are i think they are too expensive to insure as well as buy.

i like my car, but i'm also realistic about what it is, and knew what i was getting when i bought it. the ss/sc especially has gotten so many bad reviews over the years, for some reason the magazines hated it. so with all the bad press, and then factor in that it replaced the cavalier so most people just assume it's the same, and on top of that it's an american car. those 3 things alone make most people not like the car. take the same exact car, throw some honda badges on it, and i bet the reviews would have been totally different. plus people look at the 205hp and say it's underpowered, not realising that those #'s are very low compared to what they actually put down.

but at any rate, i got the cobalt because it was cheap, and my brother in law worked at a chevy dealer and i needed a car. to be completely honest when i got my first cobalt in 2005 i had no idea what a cobalt was. only reason i ever test drove one was because it was either that or a malibu. that's when i found this site and started doing my research. i don't regret my decision to buy a cobalt, but i don't think i would do it all over again. cobalt is definitely not on my list of cars to buy when the time comes.

I dont love it theres a number of things done wrong with the car (assuming off the showroom floor)

1. that rediculous spoiler that was not optional from 05-07
2. Poor factory tune
3. Heavy ass wheels that make launching damn near impossible
4. The stock axles break even under stock power levels
5. The clutch is weak for the amount of power the car is making
6. Very boring exterior
7. THE TURNING RADIUS BLOWS!!!!!!!
8. Trunk opening is puny
9. Intake temputures during the summer are borderline dangerous

im pretty sure GM isnt going to make a race car just for you...thats what it sounds like you want it to be. obviously, if you dont like whats on it, dont buy it and then complain because you have to put money into it to make it faster or better. im not trash talking or anything, just my opinion. ive had my ls for 4 years, never had a problem with it, probably because i havent done anything to it.

ive had mine for 2 years, 30000kms on it and neva eva eva eva eva had a prob-my personal opinion is that whoever beats hard on thier car is gonna break it. dont spank it you'll be fine. but, what really drives me nuts is people calling it a cavalier! it has no characteristics of a cavalier its a brand new design from the chassis up. and did they test a cavalier on the nuremburgring? **** no. im gonna keep mine, who knows, maybe in 20 years we may see an ss/sc on barret jackson with a bidding war of $250,000 like some of the hemi darts, copo camaros or cobra jet mustang, hahahaha
