If you go to valvoline for an inspection...

When they lift it make sure they do it the right way! I was outside watching them and he starts to lift the car on the side skirts! I was like WOAH WOAH WOAH! U can't do that! So he went and got these wood blocks to put on the inside. So just thoguht I'd share.

I took mine to valvoline and they didn't lift it. They checked the lights, horn, and tires and sent me on my way. Took exactly 10 minutes from the time I walked through the door until the time I left.

Dealerships aren't better. They can actually be WORSE in cases like this. For a simple inspection go to valvoline. Takes 10 minutes. A dealer will take you at least 30 minutes to an hour.. and they will upsell since that is how they make their money. **** that ****. And if you think a dealer gives 2 ***** about your car then you can think again.

Yea, I doubt I'll go back, they were all kids and real shady looking; that's why I stayed outside to keep an eye on things.

For the most part if it's not their car then they don't care.

I only go to a dealership because my dad knows a couple guys there and they do good work and take extra care of my car and my dads truck.

I took my shadow to meineke, and it came out worse than before it went in. My mom took her g5 to meineke and they left the oil cap off. Luckily the plastic cover kept stuff from getting in. We actually went on a round trip to north dakota with it off. Over a thousand miles altogether.

my brothers friend took his car to jiffy lube and they drained the oil but didn't put any back in so the engine ceased on him but they wouldn't pay to fix it cause they said he drove to far

thats weird. i worked at V.I.O.C. (valvoline instant oil change) for like almost 2 years. became a senior tech. and we never do inspections or breaks like you described. corperate just started doing tire rotations with a whole car lift.

but about the speedy lube shops. its really a crap shoot. the shop i worked at was the oldest in the st louis area and one of the most frequiented. small shop but did a lot of work. we had a lot of weiners come through that never lasted long. iv seen a lot of things happen. cars started and run without oil or filer, cars run with out tranny fluid or air boxs. **** when i first started there was a 04 wrx that came in and iv never worked on one befor and he wanted an oil change so i was doing the bottom side pulled what i thought was the oil filter (said engine oil right on the filter) and started draining it. well you can kind imagine what happened. they even got 2 tranny dipsticks or like 1 for the differential and another for the tranny or something like that. but ya training is always ongoing (or should be according to the books) and they toss you right in when you start and your supposed to just pick it up. great starting spot if your not a tard

hehehehe...that's what those crazy 24 hour mexicans did to my redline at "redline tire" (something or other) in queens...They didn't bust anything but I don't really care, my car's already a mess.

you can lift the car by the pinch welds, thats what is under your side skirt. its the lip you jack your car up when you have a flat tire. they did nothing wrong.

If you lift it by bars (ie bar that goes across the car) versus a wheel lift they pinch the side skirts every time.

are you refering to the "frame"??

it is perfered to do it like this

but you can adjust the hoist pads to contact the pinch weld and clear the skirt.
