Ignition Switch Problem
Hi y`all
Well, nearing 4000 km, i`ve encounter my first problem. A couple weeks ago, for some reason, the key stopped locking in the ignition switch. I mean, I could pull out the key in any position the switch was on. Kind of annoying, cause if you don`t pull out the key in the exact OFF position, the steering won`t lock, and no alarm or theftlock.
I went to the dealer last friday to have it replaced but the mechanic had all kinds of problems, and said he had to replace the housing for the switch. That will take another 2 weeks to get here. The guy put back the old switch and I went home with a couple stops along the way, no problems. But yesterday, the key just didn`t want to turn. I can unlock the steering wheel but it`s as if I have the wrong key. It won`t turn further.
Anybody had this problem? Any idea how to fix it at home, even temporarily?
Oh, and yeah, this passenger door panel bug, I have too.
Otherwise, I love my LS coupe.
Thanks
Ben

I had the problem with the key not turning on my SS, and someone before me had it as well. The dealer will need to replace the mechanism. In a pinch you can get the key to turn by tapping it in towards the column while turning it. This saved me a flat-bed tow job.
