Interceptor gauge
Interceptor gauge
Anyone have one of these?www.aeroforcetech.com I am going to install a two gauge A pillar pod and am looking for gauges. This one looks very interesting, but I would like some comments from anyone that has one. I was planning on Autometer oil pressure and voltmeter, but Gm put an oddball thread (M12x1.75) on the oil pressure sender. Can't find an adapter to install a second sender for the new gauge.
Any suggestions for a second gauge if I go with the Aeroforce Interceptor?

Very nice and very clean. So to be clear you purchased the interceptor and took it to a shop and had them install it? What did you do with your old boost gauge? Does the boost gauge on the Interceptor work quickly and look good or do you miss your old one? I get CEL's here and there from my CAI, so it would be nice to have something that would read that code, and then I could just reset it.
How much did they charge you for the Interceptor install?

It states on the website:
Does not list the Cobalt as one of the Exceptions.
Applications
Currently the Interceptor will interface with any gasoline powered 1996 and up
GM and Isuzu car or light truck that is OBD2 compliant. Known exceptions are
the 2005/6 Pontiac G6, 2005/6 V8 Grand Prix, V8 Bonneville, and all LS2
motored cars all of which use the new CAN bus.

Please wait to buy an Interceptor gauge if you have a 2.2 or 2.4. The 2.0 is not using the CAN and will work, but the other engines are. Aeroforcetech is planning to have a CAN compliant gauge out buy the end of March. I bought one for my 2.4 SS and it won't work. I hooked it up on a OBD2 compliant car to see it work. Very cool and will Probably have more functions on the new one. I am waiting for hte new one, it will be worth the money for all the functions it has.

1.) Will it fit in the stock A pillar?
2.) Is the refresh on the boost worth while?
3.) Is it expensive to have installed at a shop?
4.) what would happen to your old one if they put the Interceptor in its place? can it just come off and be kept in a safe place or until a 2-3 slot A pillar is released?

Xenozx, this is probably the easiest mod you can do yourself.
1. yes it fits in the stock a-pod place.
2. if you mean the rate of display then yes.
3. do it yourself in maybe 30 minutes.
4. my old one is sitting on my coffee table. If a 3 gauge a-pod comes out I'd probably get another one and an air/fuel ratio gauge (wideband)
read this for install instructions (post #17) https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ight=aeroforce

So you have to splice it into the original boost gauge wire? Here I was thinking you just discoed that one and then ran a cable to your ODB2 sensor and hid it behind the dash... So in this case its being spliced into the original cables that the stock boost gauge ran through, and you did say it fits the stock a pillar perfectly too right?
you dont have to splice it into the wire for the boost gauge. I did that for the red wire (power) rather than run it to the fuse block (which I should have). The OBD plug is where it gets the data, the red wire is to turn it on/light it up. It fits great too.
Where in Delaware are you (I mean north or south)..??

I see, so I wont pull power from the ODB2 port just the data. Then the red wire that was powering the stock boost gauge will power it so you have to connect it to both. Sounds scary but possible.
