Jerk!?

What is it when everytime I go to accelerate that my car jerks until I come to a cruising speed? It only happens sporadiclly tho.

Im guessing your have and SS Supercharged...if so you need to rev higher before you shift. Try shifting at 4k rpm's and to be into the next gear and out of the clutch before she drop below 3k rpm's....I hope that makes sense.

Which is it? Everytime or just sporadically? Lol j/k man. But on a serious note, thats happened to me plenty of times before. You can't really get on the gas at low RPM's without the car violently jerking. If you're at low rpms try to ease into the gas but at higher rpms like 3,000 and up u should be ok. Hope this helps.

auto or manual? if manual, could be that you're in too high a gear, and you're putting stress on the car. The stock mounts are pretty soft, and the engine likes to move alot. That could also be it. Try easing on and off the gas pedal.

It mostly happens at fast accelerations or when I'm on the gas pretty good but not racing it.

The Cobalts don't have timing belts.

Is it an SS, 2.4 or 2.2? Auto or manual?
