Lack of Respect (tired of it!!)
Been apart of these forums for awhile now spoke with lots of you and made sum good friends, very informative and for the most part willing to help freely and get each other on the right track. BUT this aint about that its our community period thats annoying, not sure if everyone if lying bout their wins or nuffn like that but between modded LNF's and turbo swapped and upgraded SC's there really is no respect for our car as a top contender amongst 4bangers. Crazy when ppl can say that honda or scion is well built but when we pull up faces get twisted like who brought the hotdog to a beef party!!. at first i thought it was cool you knowing being the underdog whup a V8 or smacc that sti, but where the hell is the credit?? not sure if its just me but that was on my mind and since i have a relaxed day here on the base thought i would post it up.

after my build im putting a decal on my hood that says: " Ur car Isn't Fast Enuff 2Kno Wuts Under This Hood"

The credit is when they see the tail lights!!! hondas and scions?!! hahahahah what a joke and waste of money. I will keep my SS/TC till that bitch disintegrates. I think it's the best performance car at the price.
lol think my car will disintegrate before my thoughts of selling it pop u, but yet and still all 4bangers look down on the balt even srt4 owners just think thats crazy considering i would put our cars above the STI's far as power goes seems breaking 4500-500hp on our cars is easier on the wallet then on the scubbie. Evos's r in a diff league but the ones i raced that were FBO's i beat turbo swapped one only won til i get bac lol
thanx for the turbo (Cmiller) lol

I went to a "meet" one time and all these damn ricers where there and I had my SS/TC along with my other 2 friends having SS/TC's . Everyone was making jokes about them , yet they had stock mustangs with lambo doors. It's ridiculous. Just shows they know nothing about cars.
Long story short, they checked under our hoods and all the sudden they didn't wanna do runs anymore, opened their lambo doors and started to bass their music. We won without even racing

Get used to it amigo. People don't have respect for GM cuz they built shitty cars in the last decade with a few exceptions. I love my balt but I am going to have to sell it cuz I am having a kid and the back seat is the size of a toaster strudel and I want something with 4 doors and a V8. I will have alot of fond memories in Melissa though. A few of them were at the track when people came up and asked... "DUDE WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN THERE?!?!?" I love the balt and I will miss her alot but not the lack of any respect from 'car people' when you pull up, that is until they are getting their ass handed to them by a $20k compact econobox
I get more respect out of the Balt than I do the gfs Wrx. It's either people drooling over it cause it's a loud Subaru or people hating because it's a loud ass Subaru ahahaha. People give different looks when she's driving it than when I am. People mean mug the **** out of me when I drive it. Either way that car gets way more attention than I like. I ******* love my sedan though.
i drive an LS so hate is expected when they hear what i have done to it. Yeah its slow but handles amazing. I love the expression on peoples faces when i lose them in the twisties. They never hate again.

I haven't had many real haters on my car. the only ones that might have said something like 'get that slowbalt p.o.s. outta here' was a group of f-body owners.. most of them were built so understandable in the sense that most would kick my ass in a race. but wtf, no GM love even?
then i have people that genuinely like my car, but even then they ALWAYS have to use a ******* qualifier, i.e., you're car is really sweet... for a cobalt. or- i don't like chevys (or 4cyls) but your's is nice. blahblahblah.
but in the end, not many people wanna race me, probably because they are unsure/afraid of the outcome. except for the ******* ricers who just wanna race anything with a wing on it
and those others that do wanna race me only wanna race because they know they will beat me and need that satisfaction of ...idk... putting me in my place? pssh, i don't even talk **** bro!
i usually don't look down on other peoples rides or tell them how my car would beat them because honesly you almost never know until you do it.
oh and one more thing about the only people that REALLY like my car and say things like 'oh your car is SO badass i want it thats teh coolezt car evurr' are like 16

So check it out, it's like this: If I lose, winner takes my car clean and clear. But if I win, I take the cash, *and* I take the respect!
Respect?
To some people, that's more important.
although i have no issues with getting respect with my car... (except from my peers) maybe the problem just exsists coz not many people dont know what respect means anymore..... i find the people who hate are the ones who believe their car is the baddest of them all.... no matter what kind of car they drive.... the best response anyone can do to the lack of respect over a car is to smile and wave.... usually out the rear view mirror is always best....
No car is respected among all owners some are just more hated then others. Let them think what they want and then beat them at their own game. I had a guy with a 86 Camaro bone stock talk **** on mine cause it was a 4cylinder and fwd. He challenged me cause I disagreed who would win we did a 60 roll I put two buses on him by 130.
When I crossed the border (to Buffalo) on the way to a restaurant, a pick up truck met me at a red light, asking 'how she runs'. I replied, "great!", at which point the light immediately turned green.
Got questioned by yet another truck driver while filling up gas in my area, as well. "Is that the the SS or the turbo one?" Had to mention that it WAS an SS, and turbo'd. He then asked how it was, to which I replied how it was a joy to simply take corners with.
So yes, there IS genuine interest in the car. We're not in high school anymore (well, most of us I'm assuming), so "respect" shouldn't really matter. Part of growing up is realizing that in the end, what really matters is that you yourself are happy, and what everyone else thinks is pure moot (in the context of automobiles, that is).
The only acknowledgement I care about are from the real car enthusiasts, and those are the very same people that know about some of the SS' capabilities to begin with.
