They help with rear squatting. On my car at 4psi of boost off the line it still transfers some weight but I have more torque than you, so you maybe ok.
When I went back together with my car I had all the symptoms of a failing alternator. I started the nut down to attach the main hot cable to the alternator but never tightened it. It was one of my dumber mishaps.
We took everything apart last night twice. New alternator did the same thing. We tested all the wires and everything was good. Started the car up and it was making a weird sound. Kinda sounded like a boost leak but I think it was the alternator making the sound. Drove it today and the voltage randomly went back up to normal and it’s fine now. No noise either. I was going to take it apart again today but I’m not going to touch it since it’s working now.
I don't remember if HPT can turn the L terminal on and off and I was just in there last night setting up my fan speeds. That's what commands charging. You can take a Volt Meter to the L terminal and see if there is voltage there.
Is the battery indicator on?
Any codes?
The alternator has a great ground just by bolting it up.
As you probably know, the alt. Battery terminal connects to the starter battery terminal.
No the battery light isn’t on. Just check charge system. We have tested wires. But we have extra harnesses from another car so going to just change them and see. Changing the wire from the alternator to starter and the one that goes to the trunk to the battery. I think something may be grounding out. Like a wire. We were driving home last night and my headlights turned off and back on again and looked at my gauge and voltage was low again.
Is the alternator brand new? Even if that's the case it could be a defective reman.
There are tests that can be done rather than replacing wiring and parts.
What kind of battery are you running and is it good. CS alternators do not like sulfated batteries.
Make sure when you were working on the pump that the current sensor wires on the ground cable weren't damaged.
