locking gas caps
Yeah.. I guess if somebody wants it bad enough, they'll find a way in, locking or no! Even the locking outer access panel that alot of cars have can be easily pryed open with a little screwdriver. My thoughts were the "safe than sorry" angle, but I was concerned about whether the aftermarket prods would effect emmissions tests or worse yet - the horrid evil of a check engine light possibly resulting from it. I dunno....... does anybody make a small batt opper alarm that would screech when the outer door opens? Something you turn right off or whatever. That'd be cool.... (a MAGNETO would be REALLY cool!) ZAP DEM BUGGERS!!!!
Well just thought I would comment cuz it was the first thing I thought of this morning. I turn my car on and see a message that says "CHECK GAS CAP" and i think "Oh ****"
So I take a look at it, It looks like someone tried to pry it loose, but never got through, still got my whole tank of gas and no problems.
So.... my locking gas cap has now paid for itself.

Somebody put sugar in my gas tank when i was a teenager a few times. I knew because there was sugar all over the inside of the gas door. I never knew who was doing it but suspected my girlfriend's dad. It was an older S10 with the 2.5l 4 cylinder, didn't seem to give me any problems ran great anyway.
