Looking to buy a Cobalt

If I went by kbb, my Wrangler would be more than an even trade for a ss/tc 
Why's that?
I'd like to stay around 7-8, but it ultimately depends on what I sell my jeep for. The more I get for that, the more I can spend

I can tell you right now you will not find a SS/TC for under 12k unless it has EXTREMELY high milage on it, like more than 120,000. They've been holding their value well. In your price range of 7-8, you shouldn't have much issue finding a 05-06 ss/sc with around 100000 miles. You could easily find a 07 SS/NA in that price, and maybe even a 08 Sport (which is the same thing as the SS/NA). If you don't actually wanna break your price range by at least $5000, then the TC will not be the car for you. My advice is that if you have a price range that you know you can afford, then stick with it, you don't wanna run into financial trouble down the road because of your car.
Don't forget the Saturn Ion Redline, which has the same motor, transmission, and suspension as the SS/SC, but will be slightly cheaper due to being a Saturn.

if it makes you feel better i have an 06 SS/NA 5 speed. full bolt on's, i drive it hard. 174K miles still runs great, and still on the stock clutch. no complaints here. i bought my car 1 year old for 12,5. you should be able to find one for way less now.
