Looking for the Deepest Sounding Mufflers
Looking for the Deepest Sounding Mufflers
Ok... I'm new to this site but I have had my 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS for almost 2 years now.. I live in Florida so ppl are saying that there no emissions tests here so i can get rid of the CAT and just go straight pipe to the muffler.. i think its a good idea only b/c right now i have a pacesetter header running through to a high-flow cat (which i want to rid of if its for the better) and through 2.75" piping to a Discount Auto Muffler, the 3A Racing muffler. Something simple and fairly deep..
Ok.. my question now is that I want to make my car sound as deep toned as possible and want to be noway want to be called ricey lol.. would it be beneficial to me to go header straight pipe to a muffler?
And if so.. i would like to upgrade my muffler so something that like I said before, that is very deep or close to it? I would like thoughts and ideas if possible..
Like... what kind of mufflers are yall running to produce the deep sound?
and remember.. i dont know TOO much about cars like spec wise so try not to get that info out of me lol...
Please and Thank You,
Anthony

no cat will sond like ass and you will be rice. do everyone a favor and get a cat.
straight pipes are going to be extremely loud and is going to hurt you. best bet is to go to an exhaust shop that does madrenal bends and have them fab you up a 2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust and get a muffler that you like the sound of. if you want deep i would look at flowmasters 40 series.

The GMPP touring is pretty deep. I also think that is is made by borla, just GM name is slapped on it.
2.75" is just a little big to use on a 2.2. Thats about twice as big as stock. Your not gona benifit from a pipe this large unless you put some serious horsepower power (250+) down . You may in fact lose low end torque from the lack of exhaust velocity.
