Looking to get back in the cobalt game
Looking to get back in the cobalt game
Hey I've been driving around my 2002 SS Camaro around and its far from being what most people say street friendly... I fill up at least three times a week. I had a N/A SS before totaling it so I know I want something more. Should I go for a SS/SC or just shell out more money for the SS/TC???

bought it from a guy selling lambo doors in CT as well. i was like i dont want the doors but what about the hood. he was like sure 300 and its yours, i said ill be there in an hour lol.
It depends on how much you're looking to spend and what you want from the car. The TC has more power, but that isn't what the magazines and such have been raving about -- it's how well it handles. You can make a SC just as quick and handle as well as a TC. If you're looking at a newer SC and there isn't a big price difference in getting an 08 TC, then I'd say go with a TC. If a TC is a bit more than you're looking to spend, then you could get an SC and upgrade it as you get the funds. Personally, I like the idea of getting more in stock form and went with a TC rather than an SC, which would need work just to get to the TC's performance level.

or you could buy a cheaper ss/sc sinice theyre older, and for 2-2500 for a turbo build you could blow the doors off of a tc and not have as much of a car to pay off.
Hey vetteman, im in MD i used to own a 2002 camaro ss, and i recently just sold my dad a 2002 Z06 that I had for 2 years. I bought my tc to save on gas and the more expensive maintenance of running a LSX car as a daily driver. Lets meet up, ill take you for a ride in the TC and let you drive it. My car is hpt tuned by BYT TURBO SS , i have a ZZP downpipe, zzp charge piping, airbox mod, ttr solid mounts, progress drop, and some other minor stuff. With BYT's tune, my zzp downpipe and my airbox mod I made 328whp/392wtq thats roughly 400$ in aftermarket expenses including his tuning tune achieve that gain. Not bad imo, and it puts a smile on your face that was its selling point for me, that and the fact it can hang with the vette in the twisties .
