I just bought a similar unit for my ION Redline with more features for the same price:

PIONEER AVH-P3400BH 2-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/IPOD/IPHONE/USB RCVR **BRAND NEW* | eBay

You will need a harness and the dash mount kit... I got my kit off of amazon, since single DIN can be hard to find for the IONs... Not sure how they are for the cobalts... The harness is pretty straightforward, buy the one for your car/audio setup.

This will have the information you need.

AFAIK, Crutchfield gives you the wrong dash kit if you pick a double DIN for this car.
The harness and Antenna adapter should be correct though.

Is there an adapter you can buy to retain steering wheel audio controls?

Just read the FAQ

11.) I really want a new head unit but I still want to use my steering wheel controls!

No problem. Check out these bad boys PAC Audio Steering Wheel Interfaces.

They offer you the wrong one for free, I believe.

I just installed the 1400 in my car and another persons car the other day. I love it personally and think it has some great features for being the cheapest head unit out of the series.
