LSJ Interchangeability

Are all LSJs interchangeable? I know the 04 Ion Redline was an odd one and some things changed in 07 as well. Are the motors themselves interchangeable?

the engines themselves are the same. the only differences with an 04 ion vs 05+ cars is the speed sensor isnt in the transmission its on the axle shaft. i think they also used a different transmission mount.
