About a week ago my car started misfiring above 3k rpms and i havent changed anything. the car went from running extremely good to this all of a sudden. the plugs (in my sig) are only 2 months old. Could they have lost the gap i had them set at? Copper plugs foul out that fast? I was expecting to change copper plugs often but 2 months seems a little ridiculous to me. I'm going to pull my plugs to check the gap which i had previously set at .035 and look at them to see if they look bad. not sure what else to look for? Is there any special way to clean the plugs when i take them out?

 

another thing to check on.....when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

 

might have been almost a year since fuel filter change. and for some reason no CEL have come on. drives and idles perfectly under 3k too.

should i try cleaning the maf sensor too? Cars only cel has been a falshing cel once or twice.

 

checked all the plugs and only had to regap 1 of them that slightly moved. cleaned the maf. no change, new gas as well. still same problem tho. i think the dealer screwed my car up when i had it in for warranty work.
