No one said it was a shitty mod or a stupid idea.
It was mentioned that the mod has no POINT considering the cooling capability of the factory radiator. Nurnburgring runs and all. Seeing that in hot ass Texas heat the only time I'll see coolant temps above 200 is at idle... when I've been beating the snot out of it and the A/C is off.
That's it. So if your radiator is busted, this would be a good idea for replacement if its less than stock. If you're doing it because you think you'll GAIN something? You're on the wrong track.
I could see this as possibly being a good supporting mod for a turbo swapped LNF.

And being that i am a big turbo swapped LNF, that was the reason i was excited about it
I guess my main point in all of this was: somebody is making something new for our cars and we have ppl saying its not a good idea.
I would buy that part, the more options offered for the car the better adds to customization and overall personality of the car. now if sumone could only look into a hpfp for our cars they would make a fortune!!! literally may not be alot of lnf's on the road but when one does come out i think every lnf will buy one.

What you would gain is the fact that your car wont get to those above 200 temps AS QUICK...if ever. The fact that it is more efficient at "heat soaking" and is cheaper than OEM (maybe) makes it a good mod if you ask me.

The highest i've seen was at idle.. 195*-197*
I think this item will be a popular one for the AutoXers and drag racers.
I am getting one... GB...GB!!!!
My temp does rises from 188 to 195 when I cruises in fifth at a constant 75+ mph at 3300-3500rpm. This will be a worthwhile mod for me.
I don't autocross or drag race and this is on a S256 and 4.45 gear..
Is it bigger than the stocker as I can't really see much of the difference in the pic?

an observation i have made, the little plastic air dam thing that hangs under the car works very well for keeping temps down. without the air dam, my coolant temp was around 200-210 just cruising around. with the air dam installed, it stays around 183-190. if you guys dont have an air dam, i suggest getting one. its annoying that it scrapes everything on the ground, but its very functional.

This is why you buy one. The stock rad is a little weak and doesn't like moving in the rad support. I bottomed out coming out of a parking lot (still not sure why, just bad luck maybe) and cracked the driver side tank right at the lower rad mount. Looks like my intercooler pushed back on the whole condenser/rad assembly and instead of the mount pin breaking the tank cracked.
If the Mishimoto rad is tougher then the oem plastic/aluminum hybrid I'd be interested.

cant wait for that to drop...i heard the throttle body from the v6 camaros fit on our cars any truth to this?
There have been numerous times for me that I've seen mine running around 205, though it is usually at 183.
I did a road trip last year with a couple friends and a lot of luggage, probably about 800 lbs more than normal and when I was in the desert where it was well over 100 degrees it was running around 210-215. It climbed higher a few times to the point where I threw it in neutral and let it coast for a bit to cool it down. That's not something I want to deal with again, and I'm all for making things more durable, so if the price is reasonable I'll probably pick up one of these.
So when is it going up for sale?

yeah it would be a beneficial mod IF it proves that it does its job. would definately like to see test results here. anyone that takes their car on the road corse would know a good aftermarket radiator is 100% worth the money. i was thinking about having another company build one for me but we will see how the mishi one plays out. last couple track events i saw temps in the 230s but it was 100+ degrees in the bits let alone on track temps.
i usually run around 198 for normal driving when i get into sprints i see as high as 205, but i have been using water wetter though. the highest i think was 215 i pulled over and just let her run for a few, but in my HPtuner i hav adjusted the fan speed
