Here is the Yakima rack that i got a few years back

can the sunroof still go fully open? looks like there might be enough clearence. any complaints about yakima? anything i should buy/not buy?

 

couldn't tell you. i hate my sunroof. lol i never use it. and i am happy with yakima. its good stuff. i have the parts numbers of everything you would need(besides the bike racks) if you need them

 

Nope you can just crack it open.

 

What Model of Yakima is that Rack? need to get one for heading out to the Rockies, tired of just around town (Calgary)

 

its based off of the q tower system. below is all the parts you will need minus the bike racks since they are a universal yakima accessory

are northface bikeracks better than thule racks

 

After pricing things out and weighing options and my requirements for using it, I ended up buying a "THULE Gateway 3" trunk mounted bike rack it fits over the small spoiler of my 07 SS. I bought it from MEC which is a CO-OP specializing in outdoors stuff here in Canada. The bike service guy here at the Calgary Store had some floor models even cut one down from display and I was able to try them in the parking lot to see which one would work out best.

Price was $169 it holds three bikes.
