Narrowband gauges?

So just a random question but why are narrowband gauges so bad? I mean really stores sell so many of them and there are tons of them out there but how come like a air fuel ratio one just doesnt read how it should and what not/

Makes sence that there would be one, otherwise the phrase "Wideband" would be dumb, and it would just be called an AFR gauge.

voltage. Narrowband reads a 1 volt sweep while a wideband reads a 5 volt sweep. 5 volt sweep is a lot more accurate.

Also note that a "Narrowband" O2 sensor doesn't provide an accurate reading at wide open throttle and is promptly ignored by the ECM.

A wideband O2 sensor provides accurate readings at all times.
