Need help!!!

Hey guys

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I am just very pissed at this present moment.

I am 16 years old, and was supposed to receive my 2008 cobalt sport 2.4

I had been working for the past 6 months to be able to afford it and was super happy that finally all my efforts payed off!

But yesterday, coming back from hooking up with a girl, I was very tiredd and in a hurry to get back home.. I was kinda late :S

SO I was speeding in my mom's jeep going 130-140 km/h

Eventually I see something far in the dark moving a bit, so I slow down to around 130 (80miles/h) and soon i see SHITTT!!! its a cop.

Sure enough, I get pulled over. 131km/h (82miles/h) on the laser in a 100km(60miles) zone.

I loose 3 demerites points and today I call insurance company with my car VIN to get insurance and they wont insurance me anymore due to me having lost 3 points at only 16 years of age and less than 1 year of experience.

I am very pissed off, but do understand that this is my fault and I accept the responsability, but I am looking to contest it in some way and hopefully be able to win.. and finally get my cobalt.

Any people here ever contested and won? any tips :P

thanks alot

If your insurance knows about it, you probably already pleaded guilty to it.

Should have brought it before the crown, or fought in court. Would have most likely gotten the points removed and would have just had to pay a fine (which would have been probably a lot lower also)

Talking from a Canadian point, not sure about stateside.

I think now in canada, whether they show up or not doesnt matter. It used to be like in the states where if the cops doesnt show up, you win. But it got too many abuse and they changed the law

All of what you mentioned? Would this be able to be used to defend myself?

It could if you know what your talking about. But you'd have to plead innocent, and then go in front of a judge to plead your case. As i beleive they are the only ones now able to remove the ticket/points.

Then if you plead guilty with an explanantion, i think you talk to the crown, explain yourself, and hope they can bring down the charges, but i dont think the crown can remove the points anymore.

I'm trying to remember what the people defending me in my 2 tickets said. If i were you and haven't submitted the ticket, talk to one of the ticket defendning places.. may cost about 150-200 bucks, but they'll go to court for you, and handle everything.

Have you handed in the ticket with a plea yet?

I don't know how it works in Canada but you could plead guilty and try to get a fine or community service rather then the points? They could also make you take a drivers training class again, better then taking the points.

Sorry bud not much you can do about it. You got nailed doing 130km/h in a 100 zone. If you fight it it usually never gets better, my friend fought a ticket once and they ended updoubling the fine. I really dont wanna sound like an ass here but, you fucked yourself suck it up and deal with the consequences. Shouldnt have been doing 130 anways.

I dont care about the fine.

Ill pay the 128$ (thank god im a minor. maximum fine is 100$ plus administration fees.) because if I wasnta minor it would of been around 600$.

But what I am mad at is that now, no insurance company will insure me... and I had to cancel the order on my cobalt which was supposed to be ready TODAY!!!!

All if you think about it this way.. because your having such a hard time finding an insurance company.. even if you did find one, most likely it would be right through the roof.. like more then your actual car payments.

Tried a insurance broker? I heard PC Insurance is pretty good.

Can't put insurance in parents name?

I once knew this kid - OK it was me. Anyway I was 18 and got caught doing 93mph in a 55mph zone in my Trans Am 200 yards from the sherrifs department. No **** I was that dumb . In WI you get 12 probationary points and I was set to lose them ALL. So I did what every kid would be proud to do. I made an appointment with the assistant DA, went there with my mom and begged for mercy. He reduced the ticket to 74 so I only lost half my points. I don't know how things work in Canada but if you can take a huge dent to your ego like I did it might be worth checking out so you can save your liscence and insurance. Don't fight it, don't talk **** to the cop/court about calibrated radar. Admit your mistake, promise them that you learned your lesson and throw yourself at the mercy of the court, or magistrate, or tribunal or whatever they have up there.

You probably should have had your licensed revoked, and thank god you aren't getting the Cobalt anymore.

The world has enough bad drivers. You are simply a fatality waiting to happen.

Stay off the road, grow up, and learn to drive.

get a good lawyer and make a plea deal with the DA for a **** load of community service and probation and they will probably reduce it to where you dont get any points.i recently got a 29 over,a running a red light and a 19 over and all in all i was sentenced to 60 hours of community service and a defensive driving class with three points on my liscense.

Some people here seem they think they are my father...

haha man take a chill you too. I admit having done something bad.

Now, im not looking for a way out. All I want is the cobalt I have been working hard for. And its not the money nor the points that **** me off. Its the fact that insurance company go back 1 year to check your demerit points.

So now I cannot get insurance...

And dont you think I realized I did something illigal mr.I am big god

normally when you ahve a cop behind you with flashing lights... it means something

and this is why people like you need to learn to understand the reason I am posting...

The thread is to get help and tips from people with experience in court contesting a ticket.

Not to ahve mommy and daddy educate me on how driving fast is good or bad because obviously they never ever gone 1mile above the speed limit

Just buy the Cobalt and you can store it or add mods while waiting until you can insure it, remember! Just because you can't insure it doesn't mean you can't buy it.
