I'd love to say you're response surprises me, but it is exactly what I would expect for an immature child.

You are the one who is on the path that ends with your car wrapped around a tree. The best we can hope for is that you don't take anyone out with you.

Plain and simple you do not know how to drive, and compounding that is that you are too ignorant to realize it.

Keep up the tough guy talk. We'll keep an eye out for your memorial service in the paper.

If your mother has any sense, she won't let you even look at a car until you are 18, never mind drive one.

Are you guys retarded honeslty. hahahahah

I was going 31km/h over the speed limit on an empty road at 1:40am.

Did I do it? ok yes.. big deall. I accept it and will pay the effin 128$. that isnt the problem

The problem is that if It would of happened 1 day later, I wouldnt be here trying to get help from a bunch of people whoa re obviously in need of validation for themself and decide to play the judge or my parents role.

I would still have had my balt and no problem what so ever.

Now,big thanks... honestly thank you for the 2-3 people who actually contributed to this thread in a positive manner, just like I expected people to do so. These people are the one that represent this board as a good thing

As for the others who like being part time judge or part time parents, no matter what you say, i dont care much nor does anyone else. Thanks for noticing the obvious that OBVIOUSLY i did something bad and that OBVIOUSLY i will pay for it. Thank you parrots

You really do sound like a child you know. When I say be a man and accept the consequences of what you did, I mean ALL the consequences. Now that I know your attitude on the whole situation, I really hope that cop shows up to the court date. What happened to you is a combination of a poor choice (albeit, a fairly small one), and bad timing. You can't change what you did, and you can't change what happened. If you want to cry about it, please don't do it here.

haha, where do you hear me cry about my situation? Did I ever deny having been going over the speed limit. Am I complaining about the ticket? NO. I even admit it and have no problem paying the fine.

I am trying to find a way to get my cobalt! Why wouldnt I be suprised that you anyone who be hella pissed getting in such a silly event that csot them their cobalt 1 day before they receive it. thats all. Like I said, 1 day later and I would of been all fine.

And you innocent hotshot who o never ever got caught speeding, think they are too cool to follow this thread and give advice instead they have to make themself feel better due to what? You guys make it seem like you are jealous of me more than anything with those kind of reaction. Hey, not my fault if at 16, you didnt get a cobalt. O and no, my parents arent paying for it. I am a franchisee of a telecom business. I got the money. All I need is advice on court settlement from people who have gone through it haha never knew that such a simple question could attract so many dipshits . Hey man, your cool, awesome, you happy now that you have validation from me. You dont have to seek it anymore

and as for crying about it, seems like most of you are whining about this thread more than I am about my situation. Maybe you guys should grow up

Tried a insurance broker? I heard PC Insurance is pretty good.

Can't put insurance in parents name?
Well my mom works for desjardin which gives out insurance on various things and also on cars. We get discount and the price of being insured prior to my ticket was 1500$ for both my mom(1st driver) and myself (2nd driver) combined. Pretty good rate compared to my friends g5 at around 3500$ only for himself!

And no I wouldnt be allowed to drive the car if it was under my parents name

what a freak, the worst is that when leaving the house to go meet the girl up, I thought to myself, I shouldnt be driving so much right before getting my cobalt... incase i crash or something and cannot get my car anymore.... Well luckily I didnt crash... But I did get something else that hinders me from getting my car

Obviously it's pretty grown-up for the people who have NOT been able to give him an answer. They have never done anything adolescent enough to warrant being in the same situation as him. How can you consider someone who was dropped from their insurance, and wants to know how to beat the ticket anymore mature than someone who has never had to deal with that?
If I could help the kid out I would, and I'm not going to slam him for what he did. But it doesn't take away from the fact that he knew better, and still did it anyway, so he put himself where he is right now. All that can be done, is to accept what happened and accept the consequences. These people are in no way being immature...they are giving him their perspective from a very adult point of view.
To the OP, just try to make some kind of plea agreement. Maybe even court supervision or something.

If he got you on radar or laser, nothing you can do bud =/ Can't fight it, but you can still do what other people are saying and plea guilty and ask for community service or some other punishment and hope it works, besides that, just buy the car and mod it out until you can get your insurance. Can you take a defensive driving course?

But also to note, by bringing it to court, you also hold off on the insurance people finding out about it. And if it's anything like my tickets, the courts keep pushing it out more and more.

It's not that I don't understand his situation. I'm just sick and tired of so many people trying to get out of something they did (like break the law)......it's becoming worse and worse these days. If I read your situation wrong, I truly am sorry.........but I hate hearing all these people always trying to get out of tickets.....how about avoid the whole situation completely?

I do understand that maverick.

The situation is not that I dont want to pay it, not that I am scared of losing point or serving any type of sentence.

What pisses me off is that 1 day later, and I wouldnt be here trying to get help since I would be in my balt with 128$ less and 1 point left... but nontheless in my balt.

Now I cannot have 1 due to insurance

How did they give you 3 points from 1 speeding ticket by the way? That sounds a little extreme.

well first off, in quebec, you first get a learners permit. this allows you to drive with someone who had had their license for 2 years.

then after that, you get a probationary license . This is for 2 years, and only give you 4 demerit points and allows you to have 0BAC of alcohol in your blood.

Only after those 2 years do you get your full license with 15 points and 0.08 limit of alcohol.

I have 4 points. Lost 3 for speeding. I have had my probationary license for 3 months. I am 16 years old.

No insurance company will assure me since they say I am too high risk... funny, from 1 day having the best rates and every company ready to cover me, to the next where I am a threat and no one will cover me

you should never have told your insurance about it, but just take it to court and fight it anyways
worst case, it stays the same
best case, it gets dropped or reduced

...worth a try

true.

but for the insurance, I am still insured on my mom's jeep

The problem is that I was given my balt VIN and needed to insure it... and I have to declare that I lost 3 points. eventhough I havent been found guilty of it. My mom works in insurance and knew that if I didnt declare it, it would of been a false insurance decleration and if I would of have a crash or any claim in the future, they wouldnt of covered me

wow, there are some a-holes in here tonight. he doesnt need a bunch of e-dad's lecturing him. you all act like he was racing another car at a 150mph with 100 cars in front of him. he was simply going 80mph on an empty highway, which none of you can say you have not done. hell in south florida traffic flows at 85-90mph on some highways during the day. i agree that he was way over the speed limit but he is trying to be mature about this. he is just trying to find a solution to the insurance issue. he has stepped up and accepted the consequences but is just trying to find a way to stay insured. beg and plead for mercy because you have obviously learned a lesson and you worked hard to afford your cobalt(this shows maturity in itself e-dad's). i hope you find a way to get insured bro

thanks blazino for contributing and helping

I was thinking about asking for some kind of alternate penalty to save myself from the points lost... which is the only thing stoping me from getting insured on me new car.

I also called 2 more insurance today... all of which declined me ... thats sad, because most of them, I called 1 week ago to get a quote and I would get great prices.. now I dont even get a price.. they dont accept me.

I found 1 high risk insurance willing to insure me for 4200$
This is too much for me to afford. The previous one I was supposed to get was 1500$ for me and my mom combined.

Paying for the balt, gas(which is not at 1.50$/liter), plates,4 sets of winter tires(new law in quebec forcing every vehicule to have 4 winter tires by january 2009) ,maintenance and that much insurance would be impossible.

Dude, I dont know how things are in Canada, but See if you can take a Training course and Community Service. I know where you are at, I was showing off my 'Balt and got clock doing 99 in a 45 I didnt agrue with the trooper just said I was showing off and wasent paying attention to my gauges He liked my honesty and only wrote me for 74 in a 45, I got very lucky because 30 over was reckless driving, arrested and a definate court date. I took the optional court date....went and talked to the judge, pled guilty Admited my mistake the judge dropped it to $300 Fine and no points. From my experience.....my advice is Be Respectful, Dont have an attiitude because any way you look at it, YOU are in the wrong, be honest and and admit your mistake. Pray you insurance situation works out!!!!! and for future reference pick a good speed (The fastest you would drive legally 60 where I live) and take a picture of the girl you love and block all speeds past your speed limit, you dont need to drive them.

Good Luck bro!!!
