new here, couple "?" about the SS

hey guys, im thinking about getting a cobalt SS for a daily diver car. i just wanted some insight on how they perform, common problems, im not really into the whole "tuner" scene im more of a muscle car guy i currently drive a 95 Trans Am. this car seems like a decent buy. and plus i plan on doing some major work to the T/A and i want something fun to drive, how does this compare to the redline? thank you for your time

Welcome to the site

Luckily you've come to the top resource for the Cobalt We have a lot of threads on this topic.

You should test drive both cars to get the best comparason between the SS and Redline.

there is a lot of arguments about this topic, but from my own personal experiences, the Cobalt SS/SC is a little faster. stock i ran a 9.2 in the 1/8 mile and i havent seen a redline break 9.5. i have raced a couple as well and never lost. the 2 perform really close though so it really depends on the look that you want more.
the only problem i have with the cobalt is that the CEL comes on when there is a major temp. change outside(it goes off though).

When you start beating cars you didn't think you'd beat with this car, you'll want to fix it up. I don't care what your plans are for the SS, but you will want to mod it.
