GM's recommendation, per the owner's manual, is to have the sparkplugs changed at 100,000 miles. There's a full breakdown of recommended service parameters starting on p. 397.

Hope this is helpful,

they may be good for that many miles but why risk it? People with boost change out even quicker.

Thats a little too much. The new platinum sparks that we have nowadays don't even need to be changed really

Change them every other oil change bro. Just use the basic plugs. Mine runs perfect on no touching the gap they come at. 06' 2.0 SS

Yes but damn! Every oil change?
I'm on NGK coldest plugs, they have about 5k miles on. Should I check them?

Changing plugs every other oil change is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. GM knows what they are talking about when they say plugs last for 100K miles.

spark plugs last UP TO 100k miles under ideal conditions. Change em at 50k its time, they probably visible wear, and you wouod probably notice a bit of improved fuel economy. Change your air filter ans fuel filter if you have an external one while your at it.

They also say the auto trans never has to have a fluid change too...you believe that?

Also have a friend who works at a dealership telling me they F-ed up on the OLM on 3.6 motors so timing sets are getting trashed because people run the percent all the way down.

The biggest issue with the 3.6s is that people dont check the oil. SO the OLM says its okay to go 7-10k miles and people never check it during that time, which means it runs low, and accelerates oil wear, and the monitor cant calcualte for that, it always assumes a full crankcase. So they just shortened the OLM interval. now it never goes past 7500 on the 3.6 no matter what
