New ZZP Cobalt

We just picked up a silver '07 Cobalt SS/SC with black 18s, carbon fiber hood and wing, stage 2, B&M shifter, and GM Performance exhaust. It came from an auction in Georgia. Unfortunately, it has some damage to the front right side.

Anyone recognize this car?

VIN sent, and I guess it's an '06 based on the VIN. They had it listed as an 07 in the auction.

Can't you tell the year by looking on the side of the driver's side door panel?

no but yes, only the 05s have the SS on the higher part of the door, 06/05 have the same steering wheel but you can tell the two apart by where the SS is located on the door. in the 07 they changed the steering wheel look. then you have the the 08/09s are the tc(new grill/wheels/interior) but looks apper the same at the moment

Yes, and an Injen intake, although it has a hole worn through it. It also had some projector headlights, but one is cracked. And both front seats are missing.

I think we have one on the way, but if not I'll let you know. Thanks.

That was what I expected, but unfortunately, no G85 on the sticker.

$1600 bid. ~$300 fees. $600 shipping.

You got at least $3000 in damage as far as a shop is concerned, and thats assuming the car is mechanically perfect. Add in replacing seats, wheels, whatever else is damaged/missing, on a car that is only worth $10K, and its easy for them to get 'totalled' by insurance and sold cheap at auction.

I believe the post you quoted was in reference to the build sticker in the door jamb, which has a MM/YY date code on it, will tell you when the car was built and therefore what year it is. More accurate than any other parts checking, as that sticker should never be changed unless you are doing something illegal (not that I would know about that)

It was a great buy considering some nice mods like the carbon fiber hood, stage 2 injectors, etc... However, it needs a front bumper skin, radiator, headlight, fender, strut, spindle, control arm, oil pan, intake tube, seats, airbags, and paint work. Still a good deal, but not a steal if we were just looking to fix it and sell it with a salvage title.

GM Performance Parts muffler, but we haven't put it on a lift yet, so I'm not sure about the rest of it.

I have a good used radiator as well. I think thats it out of what you have listed though.
