Newb in Indy-Might buy a cobalt ss

Well I have long been a honda enthusiast, However I have been catching alot of hell lately because I don't use my gm discount.

I test drove a cobalt yesterday and I enjoyed it. I am currently a member of basically a all japanese inspired car club.

I originally ordered the 06 civic si coupe, But for just about a grand more I can get the cobalt and it seems as if it has more power, and comes with better toys out of the box.

I would like to know the pros and cons about the cobalt. Any help would be appreciated.

If I decide to get one I will order it. What should I include in my order? I know it would be black, with the red/black interior. Anything else I should order with it?

Thanks.

Welcome to this site. I think you would be very happy with your purchase of a SS/Sc.
They are a marvelous machine. I have owned many GM cars, I must admit my Cobalt
is a blast to drive. I get alot of looks and comments about my Cobalt. I personally
feel you would not reget buying one...

I went to the chevy website to build my car, but it did not list a G85 package as an option.

Do all of the cobalt ss/sc come with the ground effects?

Yes all ss/sc cobalts come with the body kit, spoiler, wheels, etc.

Best of luck on your future purchase!

Welcome to the site! Yes, the Cobalt SS/SC comes with the ground effects. Make sure you order with the G85 package (Recaro seats/Quaife LSD). Of course if that is what you're wanting. But you won't be disappointed. The website hasn't been showing it up there lately, but it's still available through the dealership ordering process. It's a $1500 add-on to the base price.

I had a 3000gt before getting my cobalt and I must say that the ride is much better. The shifting is precise and very solid while many other 5 speeds or 6 I have driven were mushy or very very deep. I personally don't have the g85 package but in my case the seats are comfy and supportive with little or no slide in a turn. Even without the lsd the car will stick to its line in a fast turn. The car produces power on demand in any rpm range which is kinda different as compared to an NA or turbo car of the same price range ... Need to pass that dude on the freeway? don't need to downshift to 3rd just go to 4th or stay in 5th. The breaking is also very good and couple that with the smooth drive by wire steering and you have a combo that can help you avoid a bad situation as I have seen first hand. The looks of the car imo are irrelevant since the phrase 'to each his own' comes into play.

What's the name of your shop?

Are you going to be open Saturday 12/24?

If not what is your holiday schedule?
